Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University was established in 2008 as Andhra Pradesh University of Law. In 2012, it was changed to Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University. It was established with an objective of providing quality education, promote research, legal, ethical, and cultural values, and develop advocacy skills amongst the students. DSNLU is a State University approved by UGC.
Vision and Mission: DSNLU aims to become a premier law school and emphasises to promote research, training, and education. It strives to develop and motivate individuals with ethics by providing skills, domain expertise, and knowledge, and strives to deliver innovative and unique methods of teaching for the holistic development of the students.

DSNLU has a Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) which facilitates the recruitment process for the graduating students. It organises CV drafting sessions, mock interviews, workshops, skill-training sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship sessions, etc. for the students. The University also has an Internship Co-ordination Committee (ICC) which provides internship opportunities to the students.
