A Career and Placement Department works actively in Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies that prepares students for the corporate environment. The Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies’ (RILS) year of establishment is 2016. This premier higher educational institution is a private, co-educational one. The Institute is based in the Indian state of Karnataka’s capital city, Bangalore. Also, the RILS has affiliation with the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). More so, the institute has the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Government of Karnataka.
The RILS comes under the Ramaiah Group of Institutions. The Group started operations under the aegis of the M.S. Ramaiah Foundation (MSRF) that was set up by Dr. M.R. Pattabiram. The founder has more than 3 decades of experience in academics; also, he attempts to run the institutions as per the values of his father Sri M.S. Ramaiah, who was an inspirational figure.
The legal profession is considered a noble one and significant mainstay for a sustainable democracy. As such, there is rising demand for legal professionals around the world; and the Institute, works to bridge this gap. In fact, RILS is focused on imparting quality legal studies.
In addition to dedicated faculty members, the institute is supported by world-class infrastructure for fueling the students’ holistic development.
RILS library contains a large collection of titles, volumes, e-journals, reference books. Also, there are national and international journals, and magazines. The College library is called as the Knowledge Center, containing newspapers in several languages as well. Scanning and photocopying facilities are available at the Center, too. The students can, also, avail the Inter-library loan facilities from the British Council Library and IIMB Library for books, articles, and manuscripts. Indeed, the library is termed as a “Competent Legal Professional Asset” for the legal community and society members. Additionally, there is the Services Orientation program for new pupils and staff members on using the library services. Further, at the library, the Online Public Access Catalogue is available.
In fact, RILS has the necessary academic resources and facilities, conforming to modern educational standards. Besides, the College’s law students have the support of the Ramaiah International Finishing School (RIFS) that facilitates the journey of the budding lawyers to competent global law professionals, through providing the required training.
Also, the College offers value-based programs that are complemented by curricular activities, with the inclusion of the participative learning process one. As part of the Institute’s course curriculum, there are presentations, research projects, and workshops. Additionally, seminars and guest lectures are regular features of the Institute’s academics.
The RILS, like all of MSRF’s institutions, follows a ‘Professional, value-based learning experience’. All the same, the Institute grooms the students to adapt to the ever-changing business scenario through building legal expertise. The RILS admission procedure entails submitting the filled application form accompanied by the necessary documents. Furthermore, the authorities conduct the admission process on a merit basis, while considering the candidate’s scores in the qualifying exam.
The applicants can apply to RILS through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET). Also, there is the RILS entrance exam, through which the Institute admits students.
Additionally, the Institute admissions ensue as per the Government of Karnataka’s reservation policy of admissions to the higher educational institutions. The students can avail educational loan and sponsorships, at RILS, if they are eligible, too.
