National University of Study and Research in Law [NUSRL], Ranchi established in 2010 is a State University, currently having 22nd position in NIRF Ranking 2024. NUSRL Ranchi is approved by BCI and UGC. Admission in National University of Study and Research in Law is offered in Law at UG/ PG/ Doctorate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
National University of Study and Research in Law Ranchi, shortly called by the name, NUSRL, came into existence in the year 2010. The university got the approval of UGC in the following year in 2011, and again in the year 2018 under section 12B it was approved by UGC and BCI. NUSRL has been a member of CLAT since 2012.
Vision: NUSRL was established with a vision to develop new orientation in the legal studies to achieve the goals enshrined in the Constitution.
The University provides Integrated B.A.LL.B (Hons), LL.M, and Ph.D in Law degrees. Ph.D program is provided both in regular-mode and part-time mode.
Candidates who wish to pursue law courses in the university must qualify in the CLAT entrance exam for law courses. Furthermore, admissions to the university are subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the admission formalities as per the schedule set by the university. The eligibility criteria for the law course can be checked from the official site of the university. A provisional merit list of the selected candidates is prepared by the university by considering the above criteria. Other than admitting students based on the merit list, on the spot admissions are also provided by the university. Admissions for Ph.D courses are through the Entrance Exam and Viva Voce conducted by NUSRL.

NUSRL provides Merit Scholarship to the meritorious candidates and Support Scholarship to the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and General category who are financially weak and cannot afford the academic expenses. National University of Study and Research in Law Fee Structure
The Internship and Placement Committee in the university handles the Placement activities in the university. It helps students connect with law firms, industries, renowned advocates, and other regulatory bodies through internship programs at the end of every semester. The Committee has two wings; one handles the internships in general, and the other deals with the recruitment of the graduates from different batches.

The campus of the university was set-up beside the Jhumar River on 67 acres of land. Being a residential-university, student facilities are world-class for both academics and comfortable stay. The infrastructure facilities present in the campus is a perfect blend of academics, sports, extracurricular activities, and homely stay. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled which helps the students stay connected anytime and everywhere.
