The BMS Institute of Technology and Management has 11 distinct schools of study including but not limited to mechanical, electronics and communications, computer science & engineering, information science & engineering, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. These schools between and amongst them offer the following popular undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
BMSIT & M offers a suite of 4-year, fulltime Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) programs recognized by AICTE. Registered students attend classes for the different undergraduate engineering programs in the college campus. The student has to specify at the time of forwarding his application the engineering stream in which he wishes to earn his B. E. degree. A candidate can choose to do his or her specialization in any one out of civil, mechanical, telecommunications, information science, electronics & communications, computer science, electrical & electronics engineering.
In order to qualify for any of the above B. E. courses, the candidate should clear or should’ve passed the 10+2/higher secondary with mathematics and physics as mandatory subjects. Additionally, the candidate should’ve chosen any one subject out of electronics, biology, computer science, biotechnology or chemistry. The student should have cleared the 10+2 exam securing a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for improving chances of admission.
Additionally, the candidate also has to clear the KCET or COMEDK entrance exam, obtaining the minimum cutoff marks needed for guaranteeing admission. Those applying via the management quota, have to score at least 60% in their higher secondary exams.
The MCA program of BMSIT&M is a fulltime, on-campus course with a 3-year schedule. The syllabus of this postgraduate course incorporates myriad aspects pertaining to computer applications. Students studying this academic program gain awareness about computer science and associated aspects as well as learn about the various applications.
The faculty members educate the students on the technicalities involved with developing apps and software, and therefore stress more on the up-to-the-minute programming languages, techniques, and tools. The students imbibe knowledge about mobile technologies, probability, electronics, statistics, network and database management, algorithm design and optimization, programming, and computational theory.
All candidates who’ve have the BCA/B. Tech/B.E. degree of any UGC recognized university can apply for this program. However, aspirants will need to secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in their final graduation exams. On the other hand, students will have to secure the minimum cutoff marks in the Karnataka PGCET exam.
The master of Technology or M. Tech program of BMS Institute of Technology and Management is a 2-year course. The candidate has the option of specializing in ‘machine design’ or ‘computer science and engineering’ which he or she has to indicate while applying for this postgraduate program in technology. Any candidate who holds the B. Tech/B.E. degree of a recognized university, having attained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is eligible for the M. Tech course.
Clearing the PGCET (Post Graduation Common Entrance Test)/PGCET/GATE/AICTE J &K/PGET (COMED-K) with the mandatory cut-off marks enhances a candidate’s chances of getting admission.
