Mahant Laxminarayan Das College, is a part of “Shiksha Pracharak Samiti Raipur”, and its foundation was laid down in the year 1997. The college is approved by UGC and has been accredited by NAAC. The college is affiliated with Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur (PRSU). It is a co-ed college which provides education in the departments of Arts, Science, & Commerce.
Vision: To provide education to the students, in various stream, so that their lives can be impacted in a good way, through the capabilities and knowledge they gain from their learning’s.
Mission: To promote dissemination of knowledge among the students in a cost effective way, so that anybody can have access to quality learning and in turn they can contribute in the fulfillment of the objectives of national development.
Major undergraduate and postgraduate courses provided by the college are BA, BBA, B.Com, M.Com, PGDCA, BCA, etc. Apart from these some value added courses related to yoga and fitness are also provided by the college.
Mahant Laxminarayan Das College provides admission to students on the basis of merit achieved by students in the last qualifying examination. Students also have to participate in personal interview organised by the college, in order to be selected for admission. The admission application can only be submitted by the students who are eligible as per criteria prescribed by the college. For admission into undergraduate courses, candidates must acquire merit in 10+2 examination and for admission in postgraduate courses, candidates can be admitted if they obtain merit in their respective bachelor’s degree.
Some of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically disabled category, and the students who have a good performance record in sports, NCC, NSS and other activities.

Mahant Laxminarayan Das College offers numerous scholarships for reserved category candidates, in which scholarships are provided to SC/ ST/ OBC students, on the basis of rules decided by the state government. Apart from this, scholarships are provided by the college to the students who are good in sports, and have achieved lot of recognition through sports. To provide scholarships to the students who belong from economically backward category, or are not financially stable and are merit holders, the college has laid down a “Student’s Aid Fund”, so that such students who are in dire need of financial help for higher studies can be helped through it.
