For me it had always been very important to complete my Masters from a reputed institution and it was like a dream come true, when I secured a seat at SIMSREE. I was admitted to the full-time MMS (Masters of Management Studies) course, which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE. At this institution, you can choose a specialization of your choice from Finance, Operations, Marketing and HR & Systems. You need to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the CET, where a centralized admission process is followed for student selection. SIMSREE also provides part-time Master’s degree in financial and marketing management. Placements are crucial but at SIMSREE educating the right way was even important. They have various PG courses and all of them have the same entrance criteria but the score criteria differ. I wanted MMS but my scores could only fetch me PGDM but was quite happy as both the courses were affiliated with Mumbai University. My answer might be long but I will state the obvious and truth because SIMSREE is I believe is at par with NMIMS or JBIMS in terms of placements. You ask 100 and 99 will say they are doing PG to corner the placement issue. SIMSREE has addressed that with conviction as SIMSREE’s parent college Sydenham College is one of the oldest colleges of Mumbai and therefore has a long list of companies that have always backed the potential of Sydenham students. One thing that comes with a guarantee is one can fuel their career with many growing opportunities at SIMSREE. I am sorry for comparing JBIMS with SIMSREE but I have compared that in terms of placement not in terms of ROI. The fee difference between JBIMS and SIMSREE has a daylight difference. Sydenham Institute of Management Studies started 4 decades back and is one of the most renowned placed to do PG. The institute doesn’t believe in making us bookish and live projects and assignment was the learning method. The course I selected was MMM (Master in Marketing Management) and that required a lot of learning. The professors were clear that books won’t help you understand the skill sets required and therefore mandatory internships were a part of the course. The placement I believe is a crucial area when you chose PG and that department was very well under the control of SIMSREE. Many people may not be aware of the fact that SIMSREE College requires more cutoff than most of the B-Schools in Mumbai. Also, the college is affiliated with Mumbai University and therefore one doesn’t have to worry about the University being called off and all. This has become quite normal and this is why I targeted the colleges that fell under the University of Mumbai. I was so overwhelmed by the overall prospect of the college as each department was well under the covers and had the same capable hands running it.Read Full Review
