M.N. College

The college has an active placement cell called UDISHA. It is an initiative by the Education Department of Gujarat State and KCG which helps students meet potential employers for successful employment. This cell makes sure that students secure jobs right after they graduate. Multiple activities are conducted by the placement team like webinar on competitive exam and career opportunity, seminars on positive attitude and interpersonal skills, and interview skills and career options after B.Sc Chemistry, lectures on CV writing, etc. Job fairs and campus placements are organised throughout the year.

Students of this college get jobs in profiles like sales executive, assembly operator, sales coordinator, relationship manager, technical-OP, and many more. Companies that visit for recruitment purposes include Axis Bank, Broil Sensotek Industries, Toyota Motors, ITM Skills Academy for ICICI Bank, Pandav HR Solutions, Quess Corporate, and Ishan Netsol.

M. N. College is located at a walking distance from Bus Station Road, Visnagar. The campus is beautifully surrounded by greenery and the building features Gothic architecture. It is currently recognised as a heritage site by the Gujarat government.

Though the college is the oldest institution in North Gujarat, the infrastructure is built with all modern facilities for effective learning of students. The college is equipped with a library, laboratories, women’s hostel, community hall, botanical garden, and a computer centre. Apart from these, it also provides sports and gym facilities for students’ overall growth. Let us discuss the infrastructure & facilities offered by the college in details:

• Library: The college’s library is well-stocked with more than 30000 collections of books. With these, reference books, E-books, rare books, periodicals, newspapers, CDs / DVDs are also available. Students can also access the e-resources since the library has subscribed to full text E-journals like Oxford University Press, American Institute of Physics, Indian Journals, and E-books such as Cambridge Books Online, Oxford Scholarship, World E-books library, etc. The well-lit reading area of the library has a seating capacity of nearly 50 people at a time. Students can issue books from the library which they must return within 14 days of issuance.
• Sports & Games: The Physical Education and Sports Department of the college provides students with opportunities to engage in physical activities. Facilities provided for sports are athletics track & fields, basketball & volleyball courts, badminton & table tennis hall, cricket & football field, and kabaddi & handball courts. Students actively participate in University Level Sports Events, HNGU Inter-Collegiate Tournament, and various sports training, gym training and fitness programs. There is a gymnasium setup in the college which is furnished with cardio equipment, free weights and strength training machines.
• Finishing School: Finishing School is a program that focuses on developing skills which are beyond the curriculum. Every year, the college organises finishing school for a period of 15 or 20 days. Different kinds of modules are covered under this program, namely basic aspects of life skills, how to use life skills in day-to-day life, and functional and spoken English. This program helps students in enhancing their communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership qualities and personal growth.
