Mount Carmel College or MCC Bangalore is owned and administered by CSTT (Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa). The college was initially established in the state of Kerala in the year 1948, and was then relocated to Bangalore and was under Bangalore University before it turned autonomous. The college is an all-women’s private college and today is rated as the best private girls colleges in Bangalore. The college is among the rare list of A+ accredited college by NAAC in India. The college is spread in 10 acres of land and offers many PG Diploma, PG, PhD, and UG, PG, and integrated courses. The college as of now provides courses in five disciplines and they are Science, Humanities, Education, Commerce & Management, and Home Science. The college’s popularity can be gauged by the fact that famous Bollywood actresses like Deepika Padukone, and Anushka Sharma have studied here. The college also hosts a lot of cultural activities and students of here have made their career not just in corporate but in arts too. Girls passed out from here have done wonders in the field of Bakery, Cosmetology, fashion, Garment Designing, etc.
The college has always been ranked as the top colleges by various ranking agencies. In 2020, India Today ranked Mount Carmel College Bangalore at 3rd spot for science stream, and at 4th for Arts and Commerce among the colleges in Bangalore. The college is also known for its cleanliness and was also ranked second best clean college by Swachh Campus Abhiyan in India and the cleanest colleges in Bangalore by the same agency.

Mount Carmel College application forms for PG courses are available from January and students who are still in their penultimate or final semester can apply. For UG programs, the applications are made available from the month of February. Student can fill the online application form and they will know about the interview and other important dates once the form is submitted. Campus Recruitment Training: Without training and developing skills, it is impossible to fill the gap that education as whole and industry standards have. Therefore, to make students ready for the jobs, the students are manoeuvred with all the necessary training that makes the ploy for placements easy. Some of the skills which are taught through training are Leadership, Aptitude Development, Aptitude Development, Entrepreneurial Skills, Communication, PPT Presentations, and Problem-solving.
Career Coaching: We live in an age of information and it’s because of that many opportunities have been opened for people to not just chase jobs but do many more things other than that. Counselling on career is more relevant today than it was let’s just say a decade back. The career coaching is done by giving proper career guidance talks, group sessions, one-on-one mentoring, etc are some of the MCC activities under career guidance program of theirs.
Hands-on-experience: Hands-on-experience comes only through industry interface. For that, MCC takes the students for industrial visit; bring top industrial leaders to give insights on industry working. Many live industrial projects are being awarded to students as a part of academics. Through all these activities, the college tries to give as much hands-on experience to their students.
Internship Program: MCC was among the first few colleges that introduced an internship culture in its campus. The dividend that it has yielded with that is immense as students have real world experience once they go through internship. Students are free to go for internships from the 1st year of their program, so that they are career ready by the time they end their course. The college hosts an internship fair every year and students have profited with it by doing internship in companies they always wished to work for. During vacations, students are free for full-time internships and during college tenure; they can still go for part-time internships.

Auditoriums – The College has 3 spacious auditoriums that help students in increasing their extra-curricular and co-curricular activities prowess. It won a special award from Karnataka government as the 'best degree college in Extra-curricular activities' in the year 2018.
Recognized as a star college under the star college scheme of Department of Biotechnology, which lies under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

IGNOU has recognized several departments of Mount Carmel College as research centers.
