Ismail Yusuf College of Arts, Science & Commerce Mumbai is working under the supervision of the Government of Maharashtra. The foundation stone of the college was laid down in the year 1924 and from 1930 it started its academic curriculum. The College is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, and is accredited by NAAC. It is the fourth oldest college in North Mumbai.

The college provides 30+ degrees at various levels. The following are the courses run by the college in 25+ departments: BA, B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Com, M.Com, etc. The self financed courses provided by the college are B.Sc in Computer Science, B.Sc in Biotechnology, BMS, and BAF. The College also has a centre called Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) which offers BA and B.Com courses in distance mode.

The majority of the reserved category students in the college are receiving scholarships from ““Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulka Shishyavrutti Yojana”. In addition to it, the other scholarships supported by the college include: Eklavya Scholarship, State Minority Scholarship, State Government Daxshina Adhichatra Scholarship, Post-Matric Scholarship for persons with disability, and more. A computer with internet connectivity is deployed in the reading hall of the library for students to register themselves online for the different scholarships schemes.
