BMSCL has a full-fledged and developed Internship and Placement Training Committee (IPTC). It’s major role is conducting various workshops for students helping them to achieve professionalism. The members of the Placement Committee interact with various legal firms, and corporate and government bodies which gives a platform to the students to connect with the legal employers. The placement cell helps students attain professional ethics and social responsibility. BMS Law College, Bangalore began its work from the year 1963-64 as per the regulation of BMS Educational Trust. Trust recieved its name after Late Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasakhta B.M. Sreenivasaiah. It was found as a Private Educational Institute to provide Higher Education for building a career in the field of Law. It is accredited from Bar Council of India and affiliated to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU).
Initially, the college got affiliation from Mysore University. During the commencement, the managerial principal, Late AG Ramachandra Rao, the Education Minister of Mysore. Later his successors were Hon’ble Justice Mr. E.S. Venkataramaiah and Hon’ble Justice Mr. M.N. Venkatachalaiah, former CJI who in the initial ten years guided and distributed funds for the college. Late V. Krishnamurthy (Senior Advocate), Professor Late Venkatakrishnappa, Professor Late S.V. Ramanna, Professor T.K. Acharya, Professor V. NarayanaSwamy served as ex- principals. BMS College of Law, Bangalore is presently managed by Dr. Seema Surendran.
