In the year 1987, Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT, Jalandhar), an autonomous institute, was established which was later declared as “Institute of National Importance” by the Government of India. The institute is AICTE and UGC approved.
Vision: The vision of the institute is to build the learners personality through interdisciplinary knowledge, human values, and professional ethics. The main motive is to help students learn to survive the challenges of the global market and contribute towards sustainable development, industrial efficacy, and social welfare.
Mission: The institute has a mission of imparting high quality learning experience to the students, nourishing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial acumen among them. It also focuses on providing a conducive academic and social environment to the learners to help them transform into global leaders.
NITJ offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, and Ph.D programs in disciplines of Engineering, Technology, and Sciences. To get admission in the B.Tech program, students are required to follow the admission procedure wherein the first step is to appear for JOSAA / CSAB counseling which is followed by the Online Registration Process. There is a different criterion for each program that is offered by the institute which is explained on the website of the college.
