GHS-IMR has been preparing and churning out budding management professionals for the last 22 years. The institute takes pride in developing multifaceted professionals who think clearly and positively and have the confidence to take the challenges of a corporate life in their stride. The B-School admits students for its lone postgraduate management course-PGDM.
The PGDM program of GHS-IMR in a nutshell
The program’s duration is of two years and is a fulltime course that has the AICTE’s approval. The academic period is sectioned into six terms, each term lasting for 11-12 weeks. Once a student is through with the first three terms, he or she has to opt for a mandatory summer internship program in a firm, extending for 6-8 weeks.
The students study electives in the last three semesters or terms (4th, 5th, and 6th) once they’re through with their internship.
- The program strives to groom students effectively so as to transform them into budding managers capable of guiding functionally and culturally diverse teams all over the world. Students not only receive instructions in the classrooms but also gain wisdom through co-curricular activities, presentations, discussions, and projects. The institute arranges industry visits, socio-cultural activities, and alumni addresses all through the year.
- The syllabus or curriculum of PGDM, scheduled to be completed in two years (across six terms), comprises of two distinct sections or parts-‘compulsory’ and ‘electives’. Subjects and topics included in the compulsory part are taken up in the initial year while the electives are completed in the second/final year.
- The compulsory subjects equip students with basic skills, techniques, and knowhow essential for overall management. On the other hand, the elective courses help students to have a clear idea about interrelations or correlations between different management aspects. On the whole, the combination of elective and compulsory subjects comes to the aid of the learners, enabling them to become efficient managers who can help organizations to grow and develop.
- Students have to complete some compulsory subjects in the final year as well. The courses included in the 2nd year are more project-oriented which eventually facilitates hands-on training. The young aspirants can choose to specialize in any two management streams under the PGDM program.
- Students can select any two fields or streams out of human resource management, finance, marketing, international business, information technology, and operations. GHS-IMR organizes joint study tours and industrial tours with a view to create value-driven and globally oriented managers and leaders. The students participate in a diverse range of extracurricular and co-curricular events during the tours.
- The institution’s PGDM course is exclusive, unique, and different from similar courses offered by other B-schools in terms of pedagogy, social orientation, and business analytics. Each and every component of the curriculum is designed painstakingly and taught in a simple and straightforward manner which enables students to understand the instructions. While designing the course components, the contemporary business environment is kept in mind.
- Industry experts and specialists routinely interact with the students, thereby offering them a crystal clear vision of how corporate segment will function in the years to come.
