Saurashtra University came into existence in 1967 after the Legislative Assembly of Gujarat passed the Gujarat Act No. 39. This university was established to deliver excellent academic pedagogy and training to students with modern infrastructural support. To help the students in achieving their dream job and to provide excellent placement opportunities to the students, the university has established an active and organised Training & Placement Cell. This cell helps the students in understanding and acquiring their hidden talents and provides valuable experience to the students related to the corporate world. This T&P Cell guides the students throughout the academic year and monitors their growth. It works as an interface between talented students and organisations, and finds the most capable students for recruitment, as per the given requirements of the companies. This cell is also responsible for improving the skills and behavior of the students by developing professional skills, communicational skills, the right attitude, and quick decision-making skills in students. The cell also conducts resume-building exercises and organises mock interviews, GDs, and aptitude tests to prepare the students for their upcoming future roles. It develops confidence in the students so that they can crack the interview and get the job according to their potential. Apart from organising on-campus placement drives, Saurashtra University also arranges Placement Fairs.
To support and guide students with entrepreneurial ideas, the university also has a Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP). This is a policy provided by the Government of Gujarat and under this policy, any student or group of students who come up with an innovative business idea or concept will be supported and guided throughout by the university.
