What to talk about academics. Since, COEP Pune is one of the oldest; it has experience older than the 1857 Revolution. The college is not under the Savitri Bai Phule University. It is granted an autonomous status. This puts it in a level up league. It comes under the tier 1 colleges in India. The college keeps updating the curriculum from time to time to keep up with the quality standards and also the industry levels. There are many departments; all the noncore and all the core departments are available. The computer department is in the most demand and houses the brightest minds in India. Computer department provides the students with all the knowledge of computer and coding that a computer engineer needs. It has syllabus ranging from the Operating systems (hardware part) to all the software parts. It helps one acquire the basic running knowledge of the computer as well as the user interface application programs. I love to study these all. I love coding as it needs analytical and data structure and algorithm knowledge that is very well provided in the course. Academically I guess the college can still do better. I study Electrical Engineering at COEP. No doubt the college is reputed and all but still the academically needs some work. The class tests and unit tests they take, they should take it regularly. Though the virtual education that we are having these days also affects it. Even now in long distance learning, we are provided by all kind of academic resources though our college. In COEP, in all 4 years of engineering, we are supposed to be focused more on practical knowledge. And the theory also we cannot ignore completely, it's just that you have to have a certain balance between them both.Read Full Review

While since my sophomore year, we were assigned different projects and assignments. I am now in the third year of Mechanical Engineering. I also got the opportunity to be the part of the organizing committee for ISRO's space exhibition held in 2019 in Pune. I also taught physics to an IIT-JEE batch in Amravati as an intern. It was such a great experience for me. I got these opportunities because of the faculty and my knowledge. I got to learn so many new things and understand what actually is the role of an engineer in society. The college has a very huge library that is loaded with a large amount of academic books. There are books on every topic in the library. The unit tests and Nick tests the faculty conduct, I guess, they could do better than that. This all happens maybe because COEP is an autonomous college.Read Full Review
