Shantaram Potdukhe College of Law

Officially established in 1998, Shantaram Potdukhe College of Law is situated in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The college was started with a vision of preparing competent legal professionals. Its mission is to promote legal education and spread legal awareness to rural areas of the nation.

Affiliated to the Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, the college has also been recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and UGC.

The college offers admission to 5-years BA.LL.B and 3-years LL.B programs as UG programs, and a 2-years LL.M as a PG program. Post graduate diploma programs are also available for 1 year duration under specialisations namely Consumer Law, Cyber Law & Information Technology, Taxation, etc. To secure a seat in the college, students have to meet the following eligibility requirements:

*For OBC and SC / ST candidates, the minimum requirement is 42% marks and 40% marks respectively.

Admission Process

The college accepts MHCET LAW scores for admission into the UG programs. After qualifying this exam, students must participate in the CAP counselling sessions for allotment. The detailed admission process is highlighted below for your reference:

• The CAP rounds are conducted by the Govt. of Maharashtra. Applications for the counselling session are invited on a scheduled date. In this process, students have to register themselves, upload relevant documents, and pay the registration fees.
• Students must visit the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) for document verification.
• A provisional merit list will be displayed on the official website along with the seat matrix for respective CAP rounds.
• Students have to fill up an online option form where they will be required to select their choice of institutes and courses prior to the CAP Round-I, Round-II, and Round-III.
• Final merit list of CAP will be released after provisional merit list. If students are satisfied with their allotments, they must accept the seat by paying a seat acceptance fee at ARC.
• Post seat acceptance, they will have to visit the allotted institute for seeking admission as per the final allotment in CAP rounds.

Students who are willing to take admission without appearing for the MHCET exam, have to apply through the university website. The application forms are issued in the month of July or August. Admission will be granted based on payment of fees within the given period of time.

The college offers scholarships and freeships to provide financial support to students from diverse backgrounds. This way students not only manage the expenses of the college degrees, but it also motivates them to perform better academically. Students have to undergo an initial online screening process conducted by the Higher Education Institution for eligibility verification. After this, students are shortlisted and based on their academic merit, financial need, and other relevant criteria, a final list of awardees is prepared. Scholarships are sanctioned only when this list gets approved by the Social Welfare Department of Govt. of Maharashtra.
