The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, under the guidance of PCE, enlists students for the 4-year B.E. (aeronautical engineering) program. B.E. (aeronautical engineering) course is a fulltime, on-campus program that aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge on aircraft design and development, satellites, space programs, and so on. This undergraduate program in engineering thoroughly prepares students to work effectively in any national/ international public or private air carrier company.
Students after receiving the BE certification can apply for a job position in an aircraft manufacturing company such as Boeing, Airbus, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Aspirants can also find high paying jobs in the Defense Research and Development Laboratories, Indian Space Research Organization, Civil Aviation Department, and Aeronautical Development Establishment. Some of the subjects that students study during the academic period include aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, fluid mechanics and machinery, elements of aeronautics, and manufacturing process (of airplanes and aircrafts).
To qualify for this undergraduate engineering course, the applicant has to clear 10+2 exam with physics, mathematics, and English as mandatory subjects. The candidate also needs to achieve at least 50% marks in aggregate in the final 10+2 exam and also clear the JEE (Main).
The Department of Computer Technology which was established in 1990, offers the B.E. (computer technology) course, a fulltime program with a study period of 4 years. The course curriculum instills technical skills in computer engineering stream and also updates students on the trending computer technologies. The students take full advantage of the department’s advanced laboratories and also make the most of instructions delivered by experienced and competent faculty members.
The computer technology department arranges various extracurricular and co-curricular activities that eventually enable students to exploit their nascent talent. Faculty members encourage students to present dissertations and critiques pertaining to development of software in conferences and seminars. The subjects included in the syllabus allow students to have a thorough understanding of computer engineering, basic sciences, and mathematics fundamentals.
The pupils also acquire the ability to apply technical knowledge for designing, analyzing, and developing innovative software products and systems which ultimately aids in resolving real-life issues. After completing the course, the students imbibe the relevant skills and the confidence to work in a computer or IT organization. The minimum eligibility conditions for this program are the same as those for the B.E. (aeronautical engineering) course.
The Electrical Engineering Department started offering this masters degree program from 2006. M.Tech (Electrical Engineering {industrial drives & control}) has a study period of 2 years and is a fulltime, on-campus program. The students cover a wide range of subjects and topics relating to ‘industrial drives & control’ section of electrical engineering.
The entire study period is divided into four semesters where students cover specific topics in every semester. Some of the topics that students study include advanced power electronics, microprocessor & its applications, analysis of electrical machines, advanced control systems, digital control systems, and so on. Once students complete this postgraduate program, they become ready to contribute in industries pivoting round automation like steel plants, automobile industry, textile plant, and the like.
All B.E./B.Tech degree holders who have specialized in industrial drives and control can apply to this postgraduate course. Students also have to qualify in the GATE for guaranteeing admission.
The M.Tech in Electronics Engineering [communication] is a postgraduate program offered by electronics and telecommunications engineering department. This master degree program has a 2-year study period, divided into four semesters. Communications plays a key role in several industries and fields including biomedical science, defense, satellite, telecommunications, and so on.
Since communications professionals are perennially in demand, the engineering college strives to develop as many specialists as possible. During the academic period, students pick up the basics of optical communication, computer communication network, Advanced DSP, digital image processing, signal processing & smart antennae for wireless communication, and so on.
The eligibility criterions for this postgraduate program are identical to that of the M.Tech (electrical engineering) program.
