Institute of Home Economics New Delhi Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

This campus has two academic blocks or we called the two wings where the classes are conducted. The structure of the college is not so appealing but the academics are of top notch quality. With time the buildings are renovated for the safety of the students. The other amenities available here are all the labs in every field of study such as two computer labs, a two storey large library, different resource rooms for particular subject books, and a canteen.

The campus life is very exciting. The farewell consists of all the fun rain dance party and exciting games for everyone and not just the seniors. The crowd is also good and incorporates all types of students from every background. The college’s infrastructure is quite developed. The institute has got a sports hall, basketball court, gym, badminton quadrangle, girl’s common room, a foyer, a main stage near the basketball court where the main events are organised, and an amphitheater where different occasions are celebrated. The institute has a comforting vibe that makes you feel at home.

The institute is at an amazing location which has got various places around like Hauz Khas village, deer park, etc. The campus life is good. There are different societies where students can take part in the area they are interested in. Tarkaas is an Indian Music Society of Institute of Home Economics which focuses on music events. The Western Dance Society: Eleganza has bagged so many awards in various university competitions. There are many other societies like Poise: The fashion society of Institute of Home Economics comes under the top 5 fashion societies of the University of Delhi; Navrang: The theatre society; YUVA (Youth United For Vision and Action): A society that works towards the welfare; Arthiniti: The economics society; Voices: The mental health society; Eminence: The placement cell; Enactus: The entrepreneurship society, which supports business ideas, and more. The NSS initiative is also held at the Institute of Home Economics. The infrastructure is good. It has all the basic facilities that a college requires. Although, the college is not that big as compared to other colleges of Delhi University. One might feel that the college is small and there is no campus life but, the quality of education provided here is amazing. There is no auditorium here, which is an issue.

There are many societies such as sports society, cultural society, fashion society, dance society and what not. You can give auditions for the same to get selected. The drama and dance society are quite popular and everyone wants to be a part of it. Fests are not organised by the college. We used to visit other colleges of Delhi university to enjoy the fests.Read Full Review
