Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences: Admission 2025, Fees, Scholarship, Dehradun

UIPS Dehradun is a pharma college that was set up within Uttaranchal University. UU has been approved by UGC and got NAAC A+ accreditation. The college offers professional pharmacy education in the region. In pharmacy, students can pursue a bachelor's, masters, or diploma degree. D.Pharma is a two-year degree programme, while B.Pharma is a four-year programme. The college also offers two master's degrees in pharmacy: one in pharmaceutical chemistry and the other in pharmaceutics.

For deserving students, there is an Earn While Learning programme available on campus. First and second-year students receive practical training during the summer/winter breaks. Students also receive industrial training and a research project in their third and final years. The college makes sure that academics and teaching are top-notch. The college has excellent laboratories and highly experienced staff. The pharmacy college focuses and works mainly on pharmacy software during classes. It also uses laboratory apparatus since the start of degree programs.

The college takes students through an online application. Admissions are given based on merit, on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying exams. The institute also takes interviews before admitting students, and 40% of the seats are allotted to residents of Uttarakhand. The seats are allotted as per the rules of the state quota.

The following are the eligibility criteria for the different courses at the institute:

B.Pharma: It is a four-year programme that requires students to have completed their 12th grade with chemistry and physics as main subjects. They should also have studied math or biology from any curriculum. 45% marks for SC/ST students and 50% for general.

For lateral entry in the 3rd semester, students should have a diploma in pharmacy from any college that is PCI approved. Admission is given to them based on the marks scored D.Pharma.

M.Pharma: Those wishing to pursue a master's degree in pharmacy must have completed their B.Pharma with a minimum grade of 55% (50% for SC/ST). The students have to go give an interview and then a merit list is formed. The students are also admitted based on their marks on GPAT.

Diploma in Pharma: It is a 2-year program where students are admitted based on their 12th board exam. They should have got 50% in their board exam to get admission, but for SC/ST there is a 5% relaxation.

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences gives scholarships to deserving students. The UU takes care of the students, and almost every institute that comes under it has provision for scholarships. The following are the scholarships for students of the institute:

Merit Scholarships: Students with a 90% or higher on their most recent qualifying exam will be eligible for a 30% tuition reduction. If the candidate has got between 80-90%, he/she will be able to receive a 20% scholarship. The students will receive scholarships only for the first year and will not be eligible for the following years.

Uttarakhand state domicile: A 26% scholarship is available for students residing in Uttarakhand. The domicile certificate is a necessary document that the candidate should have to get the scholarship.

Hills state domicile: There is also a 26% tuition fee waiver for the students who are from the hilly areas of J&K, Ladakh, HP, NE states, and Darjeeling & Kalimpong in WB.

D. Sushila Devi for Girls: The institute offers a 5% tuition fee scholarship to female students. This is applicable to all female students for the entire course.

Wards of defence personnel: There are 5% scholarships for the sons/daughters of armed forces personnel. This scholarship is also valid for the wards of Paramilitary forces. The students should have a valid dependent certificate to claim that they are the wards of defence people.

There is also a provision of 10% scholarships for the alumni and another sibling of any student who is willing to take admission to the college.
