The School of Law under the aegis of VIT, offers the 5-year fulltime B.A. LLB program. Bar Council of India has approved the University’s law school. The course stimulates the oratorical skills, mooting capabilities, analytical and interpretative abilities of the students, and gives precedence to practical training. The program not only enables the students to gain theoretical knowledge about myriad legal aspects but also helps them to develop skills transforming them into consummate legal professionals.
The students get to choose eight honors courses out of the 67 listed by the law school. Moot court sessions are organized on a weekly basis that helps boost students’ confidence. They also have to complete mandatory internships that imply visiting law courts regularly. The different topics that students have to cover in the ten semesters include constitutional law, administrative law, political science, law of crimes, law and psychology, cyber law, labor & industrial law, professional ethics, and so on.
The learners also receive a robust grounding in arts subjects that have a bearing on the legal aspects like political science, sociology, and economics. Any candidate who has cleared the 10+2 exam conducted by a central or state education board, having attained at least 70% is eligible to apply. Additionally, the student should have achieved the prescribe cut-off score in CLAT/LSAT or any other national level law entrance exam.
VIT, Chennai has four distinct schools of technology that between and amongst them offer six distinct B. Tech programs. The School of Computing Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical and Building Sciences, School of Electrical Engineering, and School of Electronics Engineering admit students for the different B. Tech courses. The student has the leeway to choose an engineering/technology stream of (his or her preference) to specialize in.
The streams are civil, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication, mechanical electronics and computer, computer science and engineering. The basic qualifying criterion/criteria are identical for all the above engineering streams. The candidate should possess the 10+2 pass certificate (pure science/bioscience stream) of an approved central or state education board.
Furthermore, the student should have achieved a minimum aggregate score of 60% with physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology as compulsory subjects. The score obtained in the engineering entrance exam conducted by VIT will also be taken into consideration for final selection.
VIT Chennai’s five-years, fulltime B. Tech + M. Tech integrated program in software engineering aims to enable students design, create, and monitor large-scale and complex application software by exploiting advanced technology. The candidates not only learn software development techniques and how the strategies evolved but apply the knowledge in real life.
At the same time, the learners come to know about the upcoming trends and patterns in software engineering that ultimately help them to formulate highly effective software. Once, the students complete this integrated course, they can apply for the positions of design engineers, software developers, QAs, project managers, system analysts, researchers, and academicians. In order to qualify for this course, the candidate has to secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in the 10+ 2 with physics, chemistry, and biology/mathematics as mandatory subjects.
The student also has to obtain a stipulated score in the VITEEE for guaranteeing his or her admission.
The VIT Business School, founded in 1994, offers the MBA course. The University’s MBA course is a 2-year program for which the students need to clear his graduation with at least 60% marks for applying to the program. The candidate also has to achieve a prefixed score in any national level management entrance examination like CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT
