Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery or ‘Ayurveda Acharya’ is a 5 year 6 months course in SDM BAMS College, followed by one year of mandatory internship.
A candidate is eligible to apply, if he/she scores a minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 level, or any other equivalent state government exam, along with physics, chemistry, and biology as core subjects. For international students, AIU approved qualification is essential.
You can enroll in this 3-year master degree program by either opting for MD or MS. The criterion to get through is BAMS degree/clearing government entrance exam (NEET/KCET/KOMED). It is available in several specialties.
Different departments for MD/MS Ayurveda Samhita & Basic Principle of Ayurveda, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Ayurveda Pharmaceuticals, Pediatrics, Preventive Social Medicine and Yoga, Medicine, Psychiatric, Pathology & Diagnostic Procedure, Panchakarma, Toxicology & Forensic Medicine. For MS the specializations are General Surgery, Ophthalmology & ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
At present, various esteemed Ph.D. programs are running under the SDM Ayurvedic College, to foster higher recognition with a valuable doctoral degree. It is available in diverse specialization, such as General Surgery, Social Medicine, Pediatrics, Opthalmology & ENT, Panchakarma, Psychiatric.
There are two types of certificate courses, namely Basic (4 weeks) and Advanced (12 weeks). All of them categorizes according to the distinct practices in the field of Ayurveda.
Basic certificate program is currently running in 15 specialties that include Marma Sharira, Human Constitution, Ayurveda Pharmaceutics, Cumulative Toxicity, 25 medicinal plants for common remedies, Life science management/ Ayurveda Dietetics, Ayurveda, Raring of children, Ayurvedic management of Hemiplegia, Satvavajaya, Panchakarma, Ano-rectal care, Eyecare, and Woman Care.
The advanced certificate courses are tailored for medical graduates. One can pursue these courses in the following disciplines such as Panchakarma, Eye Care, Balaroga, Ayurveda care for motherhood, Kshara Sutra.
