Miranda College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Nursing.
Bachelor course in Nursing is a four years course that includes theory and practical. Candidate willing to take admission in this undergraduate course must have completed a PUC/10+2 examination with Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects with a minimum of 45% marks. Candidate should have attained 17 years of age and must be physically and mentally fit.
This program equips students with nursing skills and inculcates problem-solving approach. There are various career options such as employment opportunities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, health care departments of railways, defense and other organizations.
Post Basic Bachelor of Science is a two-year course that upgrades the knowledge and skills of aspiring nurses. Candidate must have completed a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery and should be a registered nurse with good professional as well as a personal record.
After the course completion, graduates get job opportunities in different sectors such as educational institutes related to public health nursing and clinical nursing.
Academia offers two years course with a specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Community Health Nursing. Candidate willing to take admission in this course must have completed B. Sc Nursing/ P. B. B. Sc of RGUHS. Aggregate marks should not be less than 55%. Minimum one-year experience is required for B. Sc Nursing but no experience is necessary after post-basic.
Candidate must have registered in State Nursing Council. After course completion, students can work in hospitals or in institutions.
General Nursing and Midwifery is a three-year course along with six months internship. It imparts knowledge in the field of general health care, midwifery and nursing. After course completion, the candidate may register with the State Nurse registration council. Candidate must have passed 10+2 preferably English and Science with an aggregate of 40%.
Students who have qualified 10+2 (Arts/Science/Health Care Science)-vocational stream conducted only by NIOS with a minimum of 40% marks.
