The Oxford College of Nursing Bangalore Karnataka was establishment in the year 1992. The institution is a Private, Co-educational and Nursing College. The Center has affiliation with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in Bangalore. Moreover, the OCN has the recognition of the Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka State Nursing Council. The College’s objective is to provide quality Nursing education to Indian and overseas students. In the process, the students get an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare sector.
The OCN is part of the Oxford Educational Institutions (OEI) that has 5 campuses across Bangalore, which is the capital city of India’s Karnataka state. The OEI’s campuses include the JP Nagar Campus, Bommanahalli campus, Hongasandra Campus, HSR Layout campus, and Attibele campus. The OCN is traceable to the Group’s Hongasandra campus.

The Children’s Education Society (CEE) sponsors the OEI. During the year 1974, the CEE was set up, under the leadership of the visionary leader and the Society’s Founder-Chairman, Vidyashree S. Narasa Raju. Since starting operations, the Society has constituted a series of educational Institutions for serving the education and research needs of the society at large. Also, the students have state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities that facilitate their overall development. The Society’s mission is to develop the students’ skills while imbibing strong values in them, so as to equip them to face the various challenges of the ever-changing business world.
Besides, there are several welfare projects that the Society engages in, with the objective of improving the standard of living of community members.
With the patronage of the CES, the OEI commenced operations during the year 1994. Since inception, the Group has constituted Dental, Engineering and Medical institutions, guided by Sri S.N.V.L Narasimha Raju and Sri S Narasa Raju. The Group’s founder is the Late Sri S. Narasa Raju: Sri S.N.V.L Narasimha Raju is the OEI’s President.
Presently, there are 32 institutes under the Group, offering courses ranging from primary to doctoral levels. Keeping in mind that the environment is becoming increasingly competitive, the Group adopts a dynamic, communicative approach towards imparting education and promoting research. As part of their contribution to society, the Group offers free treatment to the deprived classes as well.
The CEE’s flagship institute is the Oxford Nursing College Bangalore that offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Nursing. At OCN, there is focus on preparing the students in their roles as future nurses for meeting the caretaking needs of patients suitably. Also, several steps are taken to give the pupils more exposure via challenging opportunities, for improving their career prospects. Additionally, liberal education (such as Computer Applications, Fine Arts, and Yoga) is part of the College’s programs. The students go on educational tours and visits to other educational institutions, for gaining practical experience, too.
The OCN has varied departments. The Medical Surgical Nursing department has a holistic attitude towards treating patients’ health issues. The Pediatric Nursing department specializes in child care while catering to the infants’ developmental needs. The Obstetrics & Gynecological department handles pregnancies and treats disorders of the female reproductive system. The College’s Community Health Nursing department offers door-step services with the aim of disease prevention. Treating and preventing mental disorders is part of the duties of the Psychiatric Nursing department. The OCN’s Fundamentals of Nursing Unit provides understanding of how research findings are applicable in clinical practice.
