Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences

Krishnadevaraya Dental College or KCDS was founded in 1992 in Bangalore by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. It is a private dental college, offering bachelors as well as post graduation programs and fellowship programs. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Apart from dentistry courses, subjects like General Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, General Pharmacology, General Surgery and more are taught here.

Vision: Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences aims to get recognised as a premier centre for oral health. The institute provides high-quality patient centred health care, research and innovation by producing exemplary practitioners.

Mission: Students are trained to become skilled practitioners who have gained leadership skills and thorough understanding of professional ethics. The mission is to make dental care accessible through inclusive, community-based care.

The admission to Krishnadevaraya Dental College is open to students from Karnataka as well as all over India. Students from abroad can apply too. The student strength of Bachelor's in Dental Surgery is 60 and Masters in Dental Surgery is 38. The following table provides the eligibility criteria and relevant details for the different courses:

* OBC/ST/SC candidates only from Karnataka are accepted for BDS degree.

Admission Process:

The candidates can look for the application form on the website of Krishnadevaraya Dental College. You can also drop an admission enquiry through the respective portal on the website.

The following are the documents required for BDS and MDS Degree to be submitted at the time of admission:

• SSLC/10th standard mark sheet
• PUC second year or 12th standard marksheet
• NEET scorecard
• For MDS candidates, the BDS marksheet for all years are required
• Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
• Qualifying certificate or PDC is accepted for candidates who qualified BDS in the admission year
• State dental council registration certificate for MDS candidates
• Physical fitness certificate and blood group
• SC/ST/OBC certificate-only applicable for candidates from Karnataka
• Three passport sized and stamp sized photographs
• Adhaar card

All these documents should be mailed in scanned document or PDF format.

The Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences has scholarship programs for 1st year BDS students who are studying in affiliated institutions. Any student who has not applied for any other government department scholarships are eligible to apply for the RGUHS scholarship. The student will get a fixed amount every year when they receive the scholarship.

Five BDS candidates are awarded this scholarship every year subject to the eligibility criteria for the scholarship:

• The students should have studied in Karnataka for ten years at least.
• The student opting for a BDS degree must secure a minimum of 80% in 10+2 exams.
• The family or parental income should not exceed 6 lakhs per annum.
• The student remains eligible for the scholarship for the total tenure of the course.
• The student must qualify all the relevant exams in the first attempt during the course tenure. Failing to do this will automatically lead to cancellation of the scholarship benefits.
• In case the candidate is receiving a scholarship from any other government scholarship schemes, they are not eligible for the RGUHS Scholarship.
• Candidates who are applying under NRI or management quota are not eligible.
• Also, candidates who are admitted through lateral entry to any of the UG courses are not eligible.
