The college offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS), and a Certificate course in Dental Implantology having different requirements to take admission.
BDS is a five-year program, initial three years of which incorporates preparing students in medicinal subjects alongside fundamental pre-clinical dentistry pursued by yearly college assessments. The last year incorporates training in the clinical dentistry. Qualified students who effectively clear the examinations must also finish one year of compulsory rotatory internship. This course provides students with knowledge about dental problems, surgery, and denture. The course contains subjects like physiology & biochemistry, human anatomy, dental material, prosthodontics, microbiology, dental pharmacology & pathology, pedodontics, orthodontics, and dentistry.
After successful completion of the course, candidates are open to various job profiles such as Dentist, Dental Surgeon, Oral Surgeon, join hospitals or educational facilities, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, etc. Candidates may get a salary of up to Rs. 4 to 6 lakh per year after having enough experience in the profession.
The course is a 3-year program having a compulsory theory assessment in essential sciences towards the end of the primary year. This program incorporates clinical training, journal clubs, and seminars comprised of a final examination at the end of the semester. The course deals with Oral surgery, surgical procedures, diagnosis, treatment, defects and problems in the human jaw and other important factors related to the field of study. Under the Master’s degree college offers different specialization in Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgery, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Periodontology, Public Health Dentistry, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Prosthodontics Crown & Bridge, and Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology to choose from.
After the completion of the course, candidates can aspire to become a Surgeon, Dental assistant, Oral Surgeon, etc.
KCDS is involved in the research area of dental implants and dental prosthetics. This course is a part of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Applied Sciences education program. Dental Council of India approves the curriculum offered by the college. It helps students to build critical thinking skills and learn practical skills for a smooth transition of professional life.
The Implantology course in association with Nobel Biocare India Pvt. Ltd consists of three modules and is spread over 6 months. It includes a live demonstration of implant placements where each candidate must perform four implants under the guidance of faculty and mentors of Nobel Biocare India.
