The university has established an active and full-fledged Counselling & Placement Cell (CPC). This cell focuses on providing appropriate career counselling to the students by eliminating confusion and clearing their thoughts on careers and jobs. The cell guides the students toward the correct career path and provides opportunities to the scholars by inviting multiple national and international companies for the purpose of recruitment. Apart from this, it also organises multiple seminars, workshops, professional meet-ups, and live project sessions. This helps the students make professional contact with the experts and industry personnel and gives an insight into how the corporate industries work.

Located at Umshing, Mawkynroh, Shillong, the campus of the university has modern infrastructure and facilities providing excellent academic and social life to the students. Moreover, the university has provided the students with amenities and facilities that help the students grow and acquire high-tech knowledge. The functioning of the campus is flexible and balanced as the university promotes overall development and growth in students. Some primary amenities and facilities available here are:

• Library: Presently, the Central Library of NEHU has a collection of over 2.9 lakh books, volumes, periodicals, etc. Apart from this, it has a digital library with a fast internet connection and computer systems that help the students in performing their research tasks with ease and comfort. The seating arrangement of the library is excellent with well-equipped lights.
• Computer Centre: The university has been providing the facilities of computers to the students since 1987. There are latest computer systems installed in the centre with fast internet services and updated software. This centre helps the students in learning various tech-related hacks and ideas. Additionally, the computer centre focuses on providing short-term courses to the students like learning C++ programming, Java programming, Networking, Photoshop, etc. to make the students tech-savvy and advanced.
• Hostel: The university has sufficient accommodation facilities for both boys and girls students. The hostels of NEHU are well furnished, equipped, maintained, and located in a green and pollution-free environment. The university has separate hostel facilities for domestic and international students and accommodation is allotted to the students on the first-come-first-serve basis.
• Sports: NEHU has facilitated for its students excellent sports and physical activities. The university believes in the overall development of the students and has games like Football, Boxing, Judo, Hockey, Table Tennis, Chess, Volleyball, Weight Lifting, Basketball, Cricket, etc. Apart from this, the university also organises and takes part in various inter-college tournaments and events.
• Health Facilities: The university provides effective medical facilities and care to the students for free. Two health centers are present in the Shillong campus to facilitate the students during medical emergency or need.
• Transportation Facilities: A number of buses run from the university to provide a safe and sound transportation facility to the students. The buses cover almost all the major locations of the city and help the students reach the campus of the university on time and without any hassle.
• Anti-Ragging Cell: The university runs the National Ragging Prevention Program to eliminate ragging from the campus and to provide a safe and social environment for the students. The management takes strict action against students trying to practice ragging on the premises of the university.
• Other Facilities: Canteen, Post office, Shopping Complex, Community Hall, NSS Cell, etc.
