Pratap University Jaipur is founded by a group whose foundation has been laid with the inspiration of Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap. The group takes a great admiration for the beliefs, courage, and valor of historic figure Maharana Pratap and aims to dedicate itself to pursuing those ideals as well. The group was established in 1995 by Shri Ram Singh Bhadauria and has built many K12 schools since then, later in 2011 Pratap University was founded in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The university is spread over 100 acres of land and commits to providing quality education to the students. It focuses on making its students ‘Capable’ and ‘Employable’, by providing them an abundance of opportunities to explore their skills, creativity, talent, and stamina. Pratap University aims to become one of the best universities in North-Western India. The university is recognized by UGC (University Grant Commission), AIU (Association of Indian Universities), and PCI (Pharmacy Council of India).
The university offers UG, PG, and Diploma courses in Engineering, management, Pharmacy, Mass Communication, IT (Information Technology), Education, Library Science, and Science & Humanities. The university has around twelve departments and the faculty members of the university are experienced and qualified from prestigious institutes like IIT and IIM.
Pratap University takes both domestic and international students for admission; the process of admission can be lengthy and shadowed with lots of paperwork if students visit the university to take admissions. But the online procedure for admission from the application form to register as a student is also available at Pratap university, which is less hectic and easier way.
Apply Online: Domestic and international students can apply for admissions online after checking all the procedures on the university’s website. Firstly, students have to do the “Online Registration”, by filling up a form and paying a non-refundable registration fee, this process will lock their seats for them in their desired course. The second step is waiting and checking for any response from the college management team, admission of only those students will be accepted, who meet the eligibility criteria.
Once the acceptance from the university is received, students have to finalize their admission before the deadline. In case, the deadline is missed, the registration will automatically get canceled. Pratap University provides an admission representative, who can be called in case of any query, and also there’s an online admission query form.
Documents: After finalizing the admission, students have to get their documents verified, firstly by uploading them on the website and then by taking them to the university in the dean-office on their first day. The documents include mark sheets of 10+2, address proof, identity proof, diploma or graduation mark sheet, income certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate (for reserved class), affidavit (in case there are one or more years of gap after 10+2), allotment fee receipt (the one student get during registration), and allotment letter (if a student came after qualifying any national/state entrance exam). For international students, there are a few more additional documents- a copy of the passport of the student, birth certificate, details of residence in India, and translated versions of all documents, if they are not in English.
Eligibility: To take admission to Pratap University in a bachelor’s course, students must be qualified intermediate and a copy of the mark sheet must be submitted to the university. For post-graduation students, qualifying for graduation or any course equivalent to that is mandatory.
The university does not have its entrance exam, but it accepts students based on their scores in any national or state-level entrance exams like CAT and JEE.
The University offers scholarships on a base of merit, students with high percentages in entrance exams like CAT & JEE will get concessions on their fees, and the concession percentage varies according to merit. Pratap University also provides scholarships to poor students, based on sports quota, and to single parent-child.
There are also governmental scholarships like ‘Samaj Kalyan’ and the university helps students with a loan facility also.

The placement cell of the university coordinates with students and assures placement at a reputed company within six months of graduating. There’s also an Employability Enhancement and Competency Development Program organized by the university as an Audit Course, which every student has to take mandatorily. Pratap University’s placement cell has strong professional networks with several companies across diverse networks.
The cell organizes seminars, workshops, training courses, internships, corporate customized programs, entrepreneurial development programs, panel discussions, conferences, etc to ensure students’ maximum exposure and push them to the peak of their skills and abilities.
Pratap University has tie-ups with big companies like Oracle and Microsoft for placement of the students, Companies like Genpact, JBM, Birla Soft, HCL Technologies, Betasoft, Huawei, Su-Kam, Interglobe Technologies, etc come as recruiters in the university.
Spread over a land of 100 acres and surrounded by greenery, Pratap University provides a serene atmosphere of learning and development. The university’s campus is vast and equipped with all the facilities.
Hostel: The university has a separate hostel facility for boys and girls on campus. There is 24x7 security and warden care available at the hostels. Hostels are available with both non-ac and ac facilities, the residential suites are air-conditioned, with an attached bathroom, refrigerator, and cable facility.
Library: Pratap University has a central library equipped with thousands of books, journals, magazines, periodicals, newspapers, etc. Central Library at the university is fully automated and has more than 35,000 books. There is also a digital library service with computer node rooms, in which students can research or search for any topic on the internet. The library opens from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and students can issue any book or journal from the library during this period. On Sundays and other national holidays, Library remains closed. Pratap University organizes a ‘User Awareness Program’ at the beginning of an academic session to make students aware of all the resources and facilities of the library they can use.
The university is looking forward to developing the central library in a more digitized manner by including an audio-visual section, a cyber library, installation of a CCTV camera, and installing OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog).
Sports: The university has sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. Grounds and Courts for outdoor games like cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, etc, and Rooms and Halls for indoor games like carrom, badminton, table tennis, etc.
A gymnasium facility is also provided to both students and faculty for maintaining health and fitness, where guidance from a team of qualified & experienced trainers is provided. Frequent Yoga and Physical Exercise sessions are organized by Pratap University.
Cafeteria: The university has a Pratap Cafeteria, which is spacious, and students often this place to relax along with fresh eatables. The cafeteria provides or caters to students, hostellers, faculties, and the staff. It follows the coupon system, where one has to get a coupon from the main counter and then get food from any of the stalls/vendors. Pratap Cafeteria opens from 9 am to 6 pm and provides food at an affordable price.
Medical Facility: Pratap University has a medical dispensary that provides instant first-aid, medical equipment like wheelchairs, stretchers, etc, and any kind of medical help to any being at the university, who is in need. There is also a university ambulance always ready at a call to take serious cases to the nearest hospital. Regular health camps and checkups are organized at the university.
Anti-Ragging Committee: Ragging is banned inside and outside of the university campus of Pratap University. Helpline numbers with 24 hours service, to report any ragging incident are available on the university’s website. The punishment for ragging can vary, depending on the intensity of the act committed like cancellation of admission, a fine of 25,000 to 1 lakh, suspension, debarment, rustication, or even imprisonment.
Women Cell: This cell was established in 2012 at Pratap University, it ensures the right treatment, equality, and welfare of women at the university. Along with that the cell also provides knowledge of women’s legal rights, health hygiene, and about sexual harassment. A person who wants to register a complaint with a cell can either go to the class mentor or directly to a ‘Care Club’ of the college. After the awareness of the grievances of the students, the college administration can take decisions, which can be termination, suspension, or any other appropriate disciplinary action.
