IFIM Law School, Bangalore was established in the year 2014 as a Private Educational Institution. IFIM Law School Bangalore is approved by BCI, and is affiliated with KSLU, Hubli. IFIM Law School offers admission in the field of Law at UG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Prof. Shaguftha Anjum is the Principal.
IFIM Law School came into existence in 2014 in the Karnataka’s capital city. The law school is affiliated to KSLU, Hubli campus and approved by BCI. According to the GHRDC survey, 2021, it is ranked as the 2nd most exceptional Law School of Excellence. As per the Outlook Magazine's ranking for 2021, it is also the 9th best private law school in India. A MoU has been signed between Texas A & M University School of Law and this law school. An agreement is also there with NLSIU Bangalore for research and academic activities. The Research Centric Approach, Corporate Mentorship, and Personality Enhancement are the strengths of this school.
The college has 5 years of BBA LLB and 3 years of LLB programs at the law schools. The five-year BBA LLB integrated full-time programme is an outcome of a joint effort between JAGSOM and IFIM Law School. The three-year LLB programme is intended to develop professionals and make them industry ready. Along with academics, the college has a unique extracurricular culture that includes sending teams to participate in different college fests. Students are also assisted in becoming smart law professionals by the personality enhancement programme.

Eligibility for BBA LLB: A minimum of 45% in the +2/PUC or equivalent is required for the candidate, 5% relaxation exists for SC/ST. The candidates who have passed an exam administered by a board other than the Karnataka State Board must obtain an eligibility certificate from the KSLU, Hubli. A candidate must have passed one of the entrance tests from CLAT, LSAT, or ILAT (IFIM's Law Admission Test).
A PI will take place for the short-listed candidates. Based on the past academic record and performance in PI, selection will be made.
Eligibility for LLB: Applicants should have got at least 45% marks and 40% of total marks for applicants in the SC and ST categories. The LLB course can be pursued after the completion of any undergrad degree. IFIM’s Law test and PI will decide who is going to get the admission.
The student must present the original copies of these documents while applying:
● Grade report card of class X and XII.
● TC
● If the student is from outside of Karnataka, a migration certificate.
● KSLU's certificate of eligibility, if applicable.
IFIM Law School encourages students by giving them scholarships and financial assistance. It helps those who are looking to make a career in the legal profession but have financial restraint. The scholarships are there for law students under the Padode Foundation. Students enrolled in the Law School's BBA LLB and LLB programme are eligible for the Padode Foundation Scholarship.
BBA LLB/LLB Course: A total of 20 scholarships worth 50% off on tuition fee will be given out. A total of 10 scholarships worth a 25% tuition fee waiver will be given.
The 50% waiver is for:
● LSAT-India: Above 80 Percentile; (LSAT-India - Above 60 Percentile for LLB course)
● ISAT: Above 85 Percent; (ISAT - Above 65 percent for LLB course)
● CLAT Rank 1 to 5000.
25% waiver is for those who have:
● ISAT: 70 to 84.99 percent, (ISAT between 45 to 64.99 percent for LLB course)
● LSAT: 65 to 79.99 percent, (LSAT-India - Between 45-59.99 percentile for LLB course)
● CLAT: 5001 to 10000.
A scholarship will be given out for a year at first, with the possibility of renewal each year provided that all the requirements outlined here are met.
● 95% attendance rate each semester.
● To be eligible for the scholarship extension in the following year, maintain an overall CGPA of 7.5 or 60% on the end-of-semester exam.

IFIM Law School has access to a global platform to find opportunities for international internships. In their final semester, students are placed with internships with lawyers, law firms, Legal departments, and NGOs with the help of internship and placement cell.
Fox and Mandal, Juris Law Offices in New Delhi, Solicis Lex in Mumbai, and HSB Partners in Chennai are a few notable internships that students have attained. The other corporate law firms that offer internships are Samvad Law Partners and J Samuel & Partners. Hope (NGO) in Qatar, AJ Chambers (Law Firm) in Abu Dhabi, and SRM Law Firm in Indonesia are just a few examples of international internships.
The school has 2 unique programs for law students:
● Internship Program: Students at the law school receive help in finding internships in the legal world. Students receive coaching on how to improve their internship experience, etc. Students are told to establish a network that will facilitate their entry into the legal profession.
● Mentorship Program: In this, students talk with a business expert who counsels them on their educational and career options. The mentors assist them in developing a vision, goal, and strategy for their professional development. This programme is a special offering of the school that guarantees students have an understanding of the law.
IFIM Law School has a lush green environment spread in the beautiful Bangalore city. The campus has following facilities:
Classrooms: There are plenty of seats in the classrooms and lecture halls. About 250 people can be seated in the auditorium that is available for use in conferences, seminars, and other events. There is also a conference room for different programs held at the campus.
Hostels: The hostel is close to the main campus and situated on a lush two-acre campus. The hostel campus has excellent Wi-Fi coverage throughout and roomy space. The hostel ensures that the students have an amazing stay when they are far from their hometowns.
Library: The library, which occupies a space of 3000 square feet, houses more than 5000 journals, 18K dissertation reports, more than 4500+ annual reports, and other materials. To assist students in browsing online journals and other resources, it maintains an online information system.
Labs & IT: The school has labs that are designed after keeping advanced technology in mind. The school labs have a backup power source which minimises all kinds of technical disruptions.
Sports: Students have access to facilities like football, TT, carom, shuttle badminton, and gym.
Health Facilities: On the campus, doctors are available on call around-the-clock. The medical unit is always present to handle any emergency. There are hospitals close to the campus, and students and staff can use their services.
Set up in the year 2015, the IFIM Law College Bangalore boasts of an industry-driven pedagogy. The College bears affiliation with the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). Moreover, the College has the approval of the Bar Council of India.
The College is grouped under the prestigious IFIM Institutions that has a rich legacy of 24 years in imparting value-added education. Since inception, the Group has started several schools, offering courses in a host of disciplines. The Group made a foray in the education field during the year 1995. The Group’s founding body is the DSIJ Group – the publishers of the well-known Dalal Street Investment Journal. More so, the non-profit society, the Centre for Developmental Education (CDE) promotes the Group.
The College’s course curriculum is a mix of classroom learning and practical education. Even so, along with academics, the College seeks the students’ participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. In turn, there is holistic development of the pupils.
To encourage the student community to have more interactions, there is focus on organizing debates and international competitions by the College’s faculty team. Moreover, the College has MOUs with international Universities - such as the University of Applied Sciences Lubeck in Germany, and the ESC Rennes Business School in France, and the University of Wollongong in Australia. Besides, the College has International collaborations with Brooklyn Law School, USA. For promoting research, the College has an MOU with NLSIU Bangalore, as well.
IFIM Law College campus provides state-of-the-art infrastructure that allows for the students to develop holistically. There are computer centers that have digital learning resources. Besides, there are efforts to update the IFIM Law College Library with all the educational tools that aid learning. Herein, the students have access to a large database of national and international legal titles. Also, they can access online databases, e-journals, books, project reports, and books. In fact, the College’s library is fully automated and well-stocked. In all, the Library extends all the required assistance for knowledge dissemination and conducting research.
The IFIM Law College admission procedure includes conducting personal interviews for the selected candidates. All the same, for admitting candidates, their academic credentials and performance in interviews are taken into consideration. With an aim to create a multi-cultural environment while conforming to a non-discriminatory approach, the College invites applications from people of varied backgrounds.
To promote students who hail from less-privileged backgrounds, the College offers scholarships. Though, the applicants must read the eligibility criteria of the College’s IFIM Law School Scholarships and IFIM Alumni Scholarship prior to applying.
As part of the College’s efforts to familiarize the budding lawyers with law court proceedings, mooting culture has gained prominence on the campus. Also, many students have taken part in International Moot Court proceedings.
Indeed, the College has a fully-equipped moot court, having the capacity to accommodate 700 people. Further, there are projectors, drop-down screens, and live broadcasting facilities to enhance the overall experience. Indeed, moot courts are describable as the laboratories of law schools where there are real-world situations for testing the candidates’ theoretical knowledge. A host of legal seminars and webinars are conducted herein, too.
As per the Careers 360 Best Law School in India Survey 2019, the IFIM Law College Ranking in India is 17th Ranking. Also, the College’s BBA LLB program is rated the 10th Best in India. Moreover, the CSR-GHRDC Law School Survey 2018 awarded 4th Rank to IFIM Law School.
