B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering): SSE offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program in 12 distinct specializations. The B.E. course is a full-time and regular program, having duration of 4 years. Apart from enrolling students on a regular or normal basis, the SIMATS Engineering also offers admission via the lateral entry system.
As per the lateral entry mode, students start attending classes directly from the 2nd academic year and onwards. An aspirant can choose from specializations including civil, automobile, energy & environment, electronics and communication, and mechanical engineering. So as to apply for this UG program, the student has to pass 10+2 examination with physics, mathematics, English, and chemistry as compulsory subjects.
Additionally, the applicant has to obtain a valid score in JEE (Main)/TNEA. Those seeking admission through the lateral entry route should have a diploma in engineering or technology of an approved institution.
B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology): This engineering school also registers students for the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) course. Like the B. E. program, the B. Tech course’s curriculum runs for 4 years, each year comprising two semesters. The student can select any one specialization out of the 12 in total, similar to the B. E. course.
The school also accepts applications from students who wish to secure admission via lateral entry for this UG course. The eligibility criterions for the B. Tech program are the same as the norms for B. E. course.
M.E. (Master of Engineering): Saveetha School of Engineering enrolls students for the M. E. program, a full time, regular course with a 2-year schedule. The candidate can choose from 17 different specializations for pursuing the M. E. course of this school. Some of the specializations include structural engineering, renewable energy, power systems, medical technology, nanotechnology, communication systems, robotics, and VLSI.
Any student who possesses a B.E. or B. Tech certificate of a UGC recognized university can send his application. However, the candidate needs to secure the minimum cut-off marks in TANCET/GATE to be considered for admission.
M.Tech (Master of Technology): SSE also signs up learners for the M. Tech program, a postgraduate course extending for 2 years. Both M. E. and M. Tech programs allow students the option to select from a total of 17 specialization streams. Eligibility criterions for the M. Tech program are identical to M. E. program.
PhD (Engineering/ Science & Humanities): Saveetha School of Engineering has on offer a couple of PhD programs, allowing students to pursue a doctorate in engineering or science & humanities. In order to be eligible for the school’s 3-year PhD program, the student must have a master’s degree in engineering. Moreover, the candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate. The score obtained in UGC-NET examination will determine a student’s candidature for the PhD program.
