Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University [KVASU], Wayanad established in 2010 is a State University. KVASU Wayanad is approved by AICTE and UGC. Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University also known as “KVASU Wayanad" is a public funded university which was established in 2010. The University works towards the development of the animal husbandry/farming activities. It is approved by AICTE and was declared a “State University” by UGC. KVASU’s headquarter is located in Pookode, Wayanad.
Vision: The University envisions of being recognised globally and aims at producing meritorious and renowned Veterinarians and Dairy or Food technologists through research and academics.
Mission: It works on a mission to produce competent graduates and professionals who can lead in the promotion of veterinary, animal science and dairy research. It strives hard to conserve and utilise domestic and wild animal biodiversity.
KVASU Wayanad runs its several courses at UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, PG Certificate and Doctorate level. Students are provided multiple options to choose the courses of their choice. Among the several programs run by the university, a few of them are: B.Tech in Dairy Technology / Food Technology, Bachelor of Veterinary Science & AH, M.Tech in Dairy Technology, Master of Veterinary Sciences, M.Sc in different disciplines, Ph.D, etc. These courses are offered under the following colleges:

B.V.Sc & A.H program is through the merit scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- UG conducted by the NTA. Commissioner for Entrance Examinations of Kerala (CEE) and Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulates the admission to this program in the university.
B.Tech program must qualify in the Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) conducted by CEE, and AIEEA-UG Entrance Exam conducted by ICAR.
The university conducts an Entrance Test for admitting students for PG courses. Thereafter, a merit list is prepared, and the selected students must appear in the counseling session administered by the university.

In addition to the eligibility criteria and performance in the Entrance Test, the Reservation Policy of the State Government is considered by the university while admitting students.
The university motivates students who perform exceptionally-well in their academic curriculum. It awards KVASU Merit Scholarship to 10% meritorious undergraduate students. KVASU Merit cum Means Scholarship is awarded to economically backward and brilliant undergraduate students other than SC / ST category candidates. Other than these scholarships, KVASU provides fellowship, assistantship, and allowance to the deserving candidates.

Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Fee Structure
The Placement and Counseling Centre in the university handles all the placement activities. The Centre organises various technical sessions, seminars, group discussions, workshops, etc to instill employability skills in the students. It organises campus interviews and invites companies to visit the campus and select qualified candidates for their orgnisation. Students are provided continuous career counseling and guidance to get their dream job. The efforts of the Centre reflect in the final placement records of the university.
KVASU operates from campuses established in Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram districts of Kerala. The total land owned by the university is about 957.95 acres. All the campuses have state-of-the-art infrastructure and research facilities for an overall development of the students. It has set up an Infrastructure Development Wing in the Pookode campus for the construction, planning, development, and maintenance of basic facilities in the university.
