Training Ship Rahaman

The programs at Training Ship Rahaman Nhava are career-oriented and provide practical training to prepare students for various roles. Previous graduates from the B.Sc Nautical Science program have been placed in Maersk Tankers, K-Line Ship Management, Seven Island, Pacific Basin Shipping, D’amico, Dynacom Tankers, etc.

Training Ship Rahaman Nhava has a campus that stretches across 23 acres in Panvel, Raigad. The following facilities are available for students on campus:

• Hostel: There are separate hostels for pre-sea and post-sea course students on a sharing basis to help them get accustomed to the Spartan lifestyle. Students enrolled in pre-sea courses are given accommodation in the Serang, Sagarika, and Sagaresh hostels. Post-sea course trainees are given rooms in Sagardweep hostels.
• Gymnasium: The college has a gym named the TS Rahaman gym with equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machine, cycling machine, bench press, weight bars, etc. with a professional trainer to guide students.
• Library: The George Campbell Library established in 1989 provides comprehensive facilities including an IT zone, discussion rooms, lounge area, meeting room, seminar room, and learner’s zone with textbooks, reference books, rare books, maps, etc.
• IT infrastructure: The college has a robust IT infrastructure with computers, wifi connectivity, antivirus software, etc.
• Marine Museum: One of the most attractive features of the campus is the Marine Museum which was originally the residence of Mr Bomanjee Hormusjee Wadia. The museum displays artifacts and pictorial exhibits that give students a taste of the rich maritime history of India.
• Canteen: There is a canteen on campus with commercial equipment, trained chefs, cooks, and stewards that cater to 800-900 meals a day for trainees, faculty, employees, and children.
• Transportation: The college provides transportation to students between the campus and Belapur Railway Station free of cost.
