Goa University, North Goa Hostel Details
Goa University hostel accommodates male and female candidates in separate blocks. To seek admission to the hostel, a student must enroll in a post-graduate program or be a research scholar. The hostels dedicated to providing accommodation are as follows:

- It has 84 double-seater rooms with a total capacity of 168 students.
- Baga
- Men's hostel II
- For Ph.D. students
- It has 28 single rooms.
- Cavolosim
- Women's hostel I
- For PG students
- It has 100 double-seater rooms with a total capacity of 200 students.
- Amambol
- Women's hostel (renovated)
- For PG students
- It has 30 double-sharing rooms with a total capacity of 60 students.
- Women's hostel II has 40 single rooms.
- Women's hostel with 18 double-seater rooms with a total capacity of 36 students.
Goa University hostel rooms are allotted by the University authority on payment of caution fee which is either refunded or adjusted. After the allocation process is done, the candidate must occupy the room within 7 days else the room might get canceled.
Goa University hostel food is supervised by the chief warden to serve nutritious food to the inhabitants. Eating in the mess is mandatory. The mess supplies breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Goa University hostel facilities include basic requirements with modern-day amenities such as:

- Warm water supply through geyser

- Provision for sports such as carom, table tennis, badminton, and volleyball for female students.

Goa University hostel rules and regulations are as follows:
- Goa University campus comes under a 'plastic-free zone', therefore using plastic bags is punishable.
- The inmates aren't allowed to cook in the room.
- Keeping pets or feeding stray animals is against the rule.
- The students must keep a check on the notice board displayed.
- The hostel authority has the right to inspect any room without notice.
- Once allotted, the rooms cannot be changed.
- Ragging is an offense.
- A parking shed should be used for parking two-wheelers.
- The hostel observes silence hours from 10.00 pm to 8.00 am. Any disturbance during this period is punishable.
- The PG students and Ph.D. students must make an entry at the hostel register before 8.00 pm and 8.30 pm respectively.
- All electric fittings should be kept switched off when not in use.
- The students aren't permitted to use electronic appliances like heaters.
- During the repair or maintenance period, the inmates may be asked to shift their rooms.
- Consumption of intoxicating drinks, smoking, and any other toxic substances are strictly prohibited
- The students are charged extra for evening tea or snacks.
- Violation of rules is punishable.
- The students aren't allowed to stay outside the hostel after 8.30 pm.
- Night passes can be obtained by the chief warden for academic assignments.
- The inhabitants are responsible for the safety of their belongings.
- Before vacating the hostel, a student must obtain a 'No dues Certificate' from the head of the department.
