Cambridge Institute of Technology is approved by AICTE, NBA, NAAC accredited, and an ISO certified college situated in Bangalore. The college comes under The Umesh Education Trust and The VTU established in the year 2007. The college offers both Bachelors and Masters Programs in the field of Engineering including Master of Business Administration (MBA). The objective of the college is to become an elite institute and transform the students into successful global professionals.
Candidates who want to join the Undergraduate program must go through Common Entrance Test (CET) by KEA, COMED-K and selection process. Candidates must submit all the required documents asked by the management for submission. He/she must have passed 10+2 from any recognized university having Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science as optional subjects in the examination. The eligibility for admission is 45% for General and 40% for SC/ST/OBC category. Candidates who wish to join the Postgraduate program must go through the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET), or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or any other nationally certified aptitude test.
All students must maintain a minimum an attendance of 85% in each course registered. The branch will consider and may manage the shortage up to a limit of 10% in special cases. The department regularly announces the attendance of the students. In case of shortage of attendance, the students are not allowed to give the Semester End Examination in that course.
The college is ranked seventh in South India and 41st Top among 100 private universities for Engineering. It bagged the award of Best Placement and career building in 2016, awarded by AITMC. The college was also awarded as the Best Engineering College in India by ASSOCHAM in 2018, ranked fifth in Bangalore, and 8th in Karnataka amongst the best Private institutions for Engineering by the 2018 CMR survey.
The college library established in 2007 has five floors with a carpet area of 25,000 Sq. Ft. The main aim of the library is to support students and provide them with physical and digital content. The library has around 28,000 books, 2,500 CD/DVDs, 500 question banks, and 10 print journals. It can accommodate 250 members at a time, having internet facility, remote access facility, photocopy service, Digital library, online journal access, and Book lending services.
