Vellore Institute of Technology Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

Vellore Institute of Technology comprises 24 hostels. 18 blocks are for boys and 6 for girls. The hostels accommodate around 22000 scholars every year. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) hostel facilities provide a smooth transition from home to college. The hostels are designed in a manner that provides a comfortable and safe stay. They help to create friendships and create connections with students from diverse backgrounds. It helps to learn strong interpersonal and communication skills. The hostel authority also encourages the scholars to take part in various activities which helps them develop strong leadership and organisational skills.

The authority conducts a hostel review committee meeting every 15 days to discuss the students’ requirements and queries and update them with the amendments decided by the management to improve the quality of living at the premises.

Vellore Institute of Technology hostel rooms are well furnished and are furnished with a small bed, study table, study lamps, cupboard, and a bookshelf. Both options of AC and non-AC rooms are available in single and shared rooms.

Vellore Institute of Technology hostel food is healthy and wholesome. Multi-cuisine food facilities are also available for Indian and international scholars' taste preferences. The dining facility is available to the students with prior registration and served at the Restaurant-style Mess. The dining facility opens at 7 am and there is also a night canteen facility available from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am. The kitchens are hygienic and maintain prescribed food standards. A Chinese mess also functions separately. The Student Mess and Menu Committee prepare a menu every month after consulting the hostel administration.

Vellore Institute of Technology Hostel rules are strict and resident wardens are available to maintain discipline on the hostel premises. Security guards work 24/7 for the security of the inmates. The security guards also supervised the scholars for safe transit between the campus and the railway station. The hostel has strict disciplinary actions against the students violating the rules.

• ID cards must be present with the students while entering the campus gate or hostel block gate for identification purposes. The ID cards must not be misused by the students.
• Giving false information during inquiry for misconduct would result in a fine.
