BMS School of Architecture was established in the year of 2010 as a Private Educational Institute to provide higher education in the area of Architecture. The main objective of the institution is to educate students and help them in becoming ethical professionals, and responsible citizens of society.
BMSSA is a center of new ideas situated in Yelahanka, Bangalore having 2.5 acres of campus. It offers both Graduate and Post Graduate programs in Architecture. It is having strength of 500 students and 50 faculty members. The mission is to encourage students and make them think beyond their level and keep exploring and learning new things in the field of Architecture.
BMS School of Architecture offers three full-time courses including B.Arch, M.Arch, and Ph.D. having different criteria to join. Each of the candidates must pass the written test and further clear the interview to take admission.
The application form is issued in May every year, the form and brochures can be issued from the trust office against a payment of Rs. 1,000 payable in the form of DD. All students must maintain a minimum attendance of 85% in each course. In case of any shortage of attendance, the branch will consider and may manage the shortage up to a limit of 10% in special cases. Attendance at CIE and SEE is compulsory for the students and there shall be no provision of re-examination.
Their ranking rises with the success of their students. Since the time of its establishment, the college is maintaining its ranking amongst the top architectural colleges in India. It keeps ranking within the 15-20th position All India. It is an achievement for an institution to achieve this in almost 8 years of service. The institution has teamed up with reputed national and international organizations like Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Government of India, and international partnership with ETSAB, Barcelona respectively. A partnership like this keeps their roots strengthened in architectural excellence. The college is ranked 15th getting a NIRF score of 50.61 in 2019 and ranked 13th in the latest Outlook survey.
BMS as an independent college started its library with 600 volumes in 2010. Within 5 years, it has grown with more than 3700 volumes and having National and International periodicals. It encourages students and faculty members to make proper use of the library by giving them the ‘Best Library User Award’.
The library has an excellent collection of print and electronic resources in the form of books, journals, databases, and thesis, particularly on the architectural study. It gives open access to E-books, E-Journals, and E-Magazines.
