Central University of South Bihar [CUSB], Gaya established in 2009 is a Central University, currently having 151-200 position in NIRF Ranking 2020. CUSB Gaya is approved by AICTE, BCI, UGC and MoE (MHRD), and is accredited by NAAC-A++. Admission in Central University of South Bihar Gaya is offered in Engineering, Humanities and Science at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
Central University of Bihar (CUB) which was established in 2009 was renamed as Central University of South Bihar - CUSB Gaya in the year 2014 by amending the act under which it was formed. CUSB is working under the purview of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is approved by UGC and AICTE and is accredited by NAAC with “A++” grade.

The University’s academic programs include integrated undergraduate and postgraduate programs such as, B.A.B.Ed, B.Sc.LL.B, B.A.LL.B, LL.M, M.A, M.Sc, MBA, M.Pharm, M.Ed, M.Com, PG Diploma in Yoga, Ph.D, etc. These courses are run through various schools operating under the university, namely:
Students seeking admission in Integrated UG and PG courses in the university must qualify CUET-UG or CUET-PG administered by the National Testing Agency. For admissions to Ph.D courses, an Interview is conducted by the university. Those who qualify in the interview are selected to pursue Ph.D courses in the CUSB. The schedule, dates, venue, and other details pertaining to the entrance exam are notified to the candidates on the official website of the university. But, before filling up the application form students must check the eligibility criteria of the course they want to pursue. The Career Counseling and Placement Cell of the university handles the campus placements and identifies relevant job opportunities for the students. The Cell conducts various activities to make sure that students get their dream job. It establishes connections with the leading companies, organisations, universities, and professional leaders to find better job opportunities for its students and to provide them hands-on experience through internships in companies.
Many students from different departments have been placed in some of the reputed companies in recent years. Some of the prominent companies that visit the CUSB campus are Azim Premji Foundation, Times of India, ETV Bharat, Care India (NGO), and more.
The University campus is set up on 300 acres of land at Panchanpur which is about 15 kms away from Gaya town. The grand Entrance Plaza of the university is the centre of attraction and is a visual delight. The University premise has a number of buildings namely, Aryabhatta Bhawan (School of Earth, Biological & Environmental Sciences), Malaviya Bhawan (School of Education), and Chanakya Bhawan (School of Social Sciences & Policy). The Vivekanand Lecture Complex is well-designed and pleasing to the eye. There are over 85 classrooms, of which 70 are smart classrooms. Cultural and other events are conducted in the SOE Auditorium and Vivekananda Auditorium. Besides these infrastructure facilities, more facilities available in the university premise are mentioned below.
