Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kota was founded in the year 2013. IIIT Kota is an Autonomous University established by a joint venture of the Ministry of Education, Government of India and Rajasthan Government. It was set-up to provide excellent research and industry-oriented education in the country.

Placements of students in IIIT Kota are handled by the Training and Placement Cell. The Cell acts as a link between industry and IIIT students and administers all the placement activities throughout the year. Guest lectures, pre-placement talks, training, group discussions, and live projects are among the several activities conducted by the Cell.
Constant efforts of the Cell has resulted in an increase in the Placement statistics of the university. The Cell invites a number of well-known and prestigious companies including big names like Swiggy, Amazon, Capgemini, Deloitte, Juspay, Flipkart, Q3 Technologies, Microsoft, Samsung, Snapdeal, and more.
IIIT Kota campus was developed on 100.37 acres of land at Ranpur near Kota. The campus was recently constructed, prior to which the institute was operating from its temporary campus in Prabha Bhawan of Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, till 2013. The campus is surrounded with a lush green environment. There are smart classrooms, laboratories, air-conditioned lecture theaters, Wi-Fi-enabled computer centers, tutorial rooms, and more academic facilities in the campus for the overall development of the students. To polish students' skills and to let them pursue their passion, the university has started different clubs like Algorithmus, Arc Robotics, Cyph3r, Fit India Club, Codebase, and more.
