IIIT Dharwad

IIIT Dharwad has a Career Guidance Cell (CGC) which organises Placement drives at the campus. The Cell is managed by students and assisted by faculty members. It provides training and guidance to students to get job and internship opportunities. Students are assisted in pursuing higher education by providing them information about the entrance exams and other opportunities for higher studies.

According to the Placement records of the institute, the prominent companies that visited the IIIT Dharwad campus include, Cognizant, Infosys, Bentley Motors Limited, Amazon, Virtusa, Wipro, Zensar, Tata Consultancy Services, Samsung Group, Oracle, Deloitte, Capgemini, Intel, IBM, and more.

IIIT Dharwad’s brand new campus was developed on 60 acres land close to the Hubballi Airport (UBX). It was designed on a semi-modern theme and approach to solving IT problems. The new smart IT campus facilitates the academic requirements of the students and staff. The total built-up area of the campus constitutes the Academic Building (e Block), Main Building (π Block), Boys’ Hostel (b Block), Girls’ Hostel (g Block), and Health and Fitness Block (h Block). Some of the infrastructure facilities available are listed in the points below:

• Library: IIIT Dharwad campus has a textbook library housed in the Academic Building. The library provides an automated self service facility to borrow and lend books round the clock. There is a Knowledge Resource Center housed in the Main Building.
• Classrooms: Students are provided lectures in ICT-enabled classrooms. There are two 120-seater and one 240-seater classroom with live streaming facilities to conduct workshops, conferences and other events.
• Hostel: Two separate hostel buildings are constructed to accommodate boy and girl students. The Boys’ Hostel is a 6-storied building with 200 rooms. Rooms are spacious with full-light and ventilation, and furnished with the basic amenities. In addition to it, there is a Dining hall and a Common room for reading, playing, and other activities. The Girls’ Hostel in the campus is built by Infosys Foundation and has nearly 100 rooms with all the same features and facilities as in the Boys’ Hostel.
• Sports: There are sports facilities available in the new campus for both indoor and outdoor games. A Multi-Functional hall was set up to provide facilities for various indoor games.
• Medical Facilities: At the Health and Fitness Block (h Block), a Wellness Centre is open with facilities to provide medical assistance to the institutes’ community. Students are provided medicines at the pharmacy open in the h Block.
• Other Facilities: Laboratories, Canteen with indoor and outdoor seating, Salon, e-Bank, Small shop, Gymnasium, Activity rooms, Music room, etc.
