Bishop Ambrose College [BAC], Coimbatore was established in the year 1997 as a Private Educational Institution. BAC Coimbatore is approved by UGC, accredited by NAAC-B++, and is affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Bishop Ambrose College offers admission in the field of Management, Humanities and Science at UG/ PG level. Dr. A.Peter Raj is the Principal.
Bishop Ambrose College is an institution set up in 1997 by the Coimbatore Diocese Society. There are many colleges and schools that were opened in Coimbatore by the same society to impart education to the youth. The college is 20+ years old but has a rich legacy because of its history. It inculcates excellent and outstanding qualities to make students world leaders. The college has an affiliation with Bharathiar University and is a co-ed institute. It is accredited by NAAC with a B++ grade. The college has an IQAC cell to make sure that academic and administrative activities are improving.
This college has many courses at UG and PG levels under the leadership of qualified teachers. To generate interest in the Tamil and English language it has set up these departments on its campus. BAC has other departments like Commerce, Management studies, Corporate Secretary ship, Physical education, and MSW. The college is giving quality education in the corporate field and generating leaders. It also offers BA in English Literature, BBA in computer applications, BCA, B.Sc in Computer Science, Maths, IT and B.Com, and M.Com courses.
The college maintains healthy and good relationships with its alumni and organizes functions and events for them. The eco club of the college focuses on the conservation of water and cleanliness and conducts many programs to save the earth and nature. The college has adopted a small village Karadimadai where students and NSS members of Bishop College hold awareness programs for free. The student council is an important part of this college to carry out the activities and different programs.

Bishop Ambrose College has an amazing and vibrant placement cell that takes care of the needs of the students. The cell organizes workshops and seminars on career and personality development. It also gives workshops on entrepreneur development where students are given the required knowledge and are looking to set up their own start-ups.
The list of eminent recruiters that have visited the campus and hired students is really long. Citibank, Dell, Infosys, HCL, TATA, Amazon, IBM, Accenture, Wipro, and 40+ top recruiting companies have offered job opportunities to the young talent of this college. 30+ students were picked and offered jobs in various companies like ICICI, IDBI during the last placement.
Bishop Ambrose College has many facilities at its Coimbatore campus. The college has a library, one of the most gifted and important places on the entire campus. It has a barcode system for entry and video cameras are there for surveillance. E-books, journals, and newspapers along with the standard books are here for the student’s convenience.
The college has a fine arts club which finds hidden talent in the students by organizing cultural programs. Flower arrangements, Clay modelling, Rangoli, Singing, and dancing activities bring many talents forward. The college has a youth red cross which holds activities like blood donations to help society. It encourages students and faculty members to come forward for blood donation. It also visits old age homes and children’s orphanages to render its services. The women’s cell is there which is active for the cause of women and holds volunteer programs for their empowerment. NSS unit is there where students can give their services for the social cause and commitment.
Moving to the sports segment, BAC has a physical education department that helps students to realize the importance of sports, games, and overall fitness. The students have participated in many events at the national and international levels. The campus has a track and field along with the cricket and football grounds where they can indulge in sports activities as a hobby or if they wish to continue in sports on a professional front.
