The Presidency College (PC) was set up during the year 2000 at India’s Karnataka state’s capital city, Bangalore. The College is counted among one of Bangalore’s premier colleges, coming under the Presidency Group of Institutions. The Group made a foray into the field of education during the year 1976. And over 40 years, the Group has contributed to the cause of academic excellence.
Initially, the College was conducting only 2 courses. Presently, after 17 years, the College has earned repute in providing quality education in India and abroad. Besides, the Institute has got recognition as one of India’s ‘B’ Schools in Management Education. Additionally, the College is known to be the Best B School that offers the MBA programme under Bangalore University.
The College has an array of courses; and the students can avail courses in a host of disciplines. These include Computer Applications, Arts & Humanities, Management, and Commerce. Indeed, the Presidency College Library has more than 18000 volumes. Also, the Library subscribes to leading journals and periodicals – with the inclusion of the national and international ones. Besides, the library houses an audio-visual section that offers a wide collection of audio and visual aids - such as tapes and CD-ROMs. At the Library, the pupils can engage in research projects and referencing ones. For facilitating the referencing process, the Library is divided into 2 sections: the undergraduate division and the postgraduate one.
As part of the Presidency College admission procedure, online applications are accepted. For applying, the candidates have to download the application form from the College’s official website. Then, they have to fill in the required particulars, and attach the necessary documents, before submission.
For admitting students to the College’s undergraduate courses, the authorities consider the applicants’ scores in the qualifying exam. However, for admissions to the Institute's postgraduate programs, the candidates have to clear the Presidency College entrance exam. Then, the shortlisted candidates are to attend the personal interview rounds. Thereafter, the candidates who qualify can gain admissions in the postgraduate courses.
