Mahatma Gandhi University was established in Kottayam In 1983 to meet the educational demands of students of the state. It is UGC-approved. The area covered by the campus is around 110 acres where students find academic courses related to fields like Technology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Legal Studies, Nursing, and others. It is accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade.
The university offers UG, PG, Doctorate, and M.Phil programs through its approximately 23 University Departments, 7 Inter University Centres, 2 International & Inter-University Centre, 10 Autonomous Colleges, 77 Government / Aided Affiliated Colleges, 199 Recognised Research Centres, and 200 Unaided Affiliated Colleges.
