The Training & Placement Cell of the IIIT Guwahati prepares students according to industry trends for the successful placement process. Career guidance is provided to the students by experts for a better future. State of art infrastructure and facilities are available for providing excellent placement experience to both students and companies such as group discussion rooms with ICT facilities, auditoriums, interview rooms, internet facility, etc. Pre-placement talks are organised by the cell for spreading awareness about the industry requirements. Various seminars, workshops, mock interviews sessions, conferences are arranged for enhancing the employability skills of the students. Summer internships are facilitated by the cell in a renowned organisation for assisting students to gain practical exposure in the corporate world. The cell takes initiatives and invites companies for the campus placement.

IIIT Guwahati campus is developed on 67 acres of land about 4km away from Guwahati airport. The campus is surrounded with greenery which provides a positive environment to the students. The institute has enabled Wi-Fi facility in the campus for providing free internet services to the students. Air-conditioned classrooms are available with projection facilities to facilitate e-learning to the students. For holistic development of the students, the institute has various clubs to organise curricular and extracurricular activities. Following are the facilities that institute provide in the campus:

• Library: The institute library is equipped with a number of resources to cater the needs of the students such as 1,000+ books, national & international journals, magazines, periodicals, newspapers, references, etc. A spacious and well designed reading room facility is available in the library. Digital library is provided to the students which are equipped with e-devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, etc to access the e-resources. 
• Laboratories: IIITG labs are equipped with modern equipment and latest hi-tech gadgets to provide practical knowledge to the students in their respective subjects. Lab assistants are available to guide the students. The institute has facilities for Computer Lab, Digital Processing Lab, Microwave Engineering Lab, Software Engineering Lab, Operating Systems Lab, etc.
• Hostel: Institute provides separate residential facilities to both boy’s and girl’s in the campus. The boy’s hostel accommodates around 600 students and the girl's hostel accommodates more than 150 students. The hostel has lush green surroundings which provide a healthy and friendly environment. Various facilities are available for the students such as 24/7 electricity back up, common room, dining space, recreation room, 24/7 security. For maintenance of the hostels, wardens are available. Hostel mess provides fresh and quality food to the students.
• Sports: For physical and mental health development of the students, IIIT Guwahati gives importance to sports activities. Various indoor and outdoor games facilities are available for the students. Institute indulges in several sporting activities such as basketball, football, badminton, carom, cricket, badminton, table tennis, arm-wrestling, volleyball, and others. Institute encourages students to participate in inter and intra sports events and competitions.
• Canteen: IIIT campus has a well maintained canteen to provide fresh and nutritious food. Institute canteen offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food at nominal prices.
