Birla Global University was started in the year of 2015 as a self-supporting private university. The university is UGC approved along with it’s a member of reputed AIU organization. The integrated law course is recognized by BCI and it’s an institutional member of AIMA & CII. Birla Academy of Art & Culture (BAAC) was founded in Calcutta in 1964 by BK Birla and Sarla Birla to promote the arts and literature. They were the successors of late GD Birla and BGU BBSR would not exist without the support of BAAC. Students can pursue academic goals in a highly safe and healthy environment at the institution.
There are six schools within the university: the School of Management, Birla School of Communication, and School of Commerce. The other 3 are School of Social Sciences & Humanities, Law school along with Applied Sciences. Undergrad, PG, and PhD along with the certificate degree courses/programs are available at the university. Courses at the UG level include 3 years of B.Com (H), BCA, BBA (H) regular and in business analytics, digital marketing, 3 years of BJMC (H), 5 years of BBA LLB (H), and 4 years of B.Sc (H) in data sciences. Courses and degree programs at PG level include 1 year of LL.M, 2 years of MAJMC, M.Com, MCA, MA/M.Sc in financial economics, MBA in finance, marketing HR, and banking technology. The university offers PhD in Eco, Management, Commerce, Law, JMC, English, and Computer Sciences. There are 3 months of online certificate programs in data analytics, financial planning, photojournalism, data preparation, and many more.
The university's faculty members are experts and highly qualified. The institution hosts a significant number of conferences and workshops on a national/international level. Such experiences give students a wealth of knowledge and help them develop various skills, including leadership and communication. Birla Global University accepts online applications where students can submit needed information and can do the application fee submission using net banking/debit/credit card. After submission, BGU will check the eligibility, and if the applicant is found fit, he/she will be called for the GD/PI if applicable in any course. The students have to carry their docs along with the GDPI letter to appear. For MBA courses, students are asked to write an essay, followed by a GD and Interview test. They will be admitted based on their performance in the tests and if they have appeared for any national level tests like CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ XAT etc. then the marks will be used for the evaluation process. Students have to confirm their admission within 7 days of receiving the offer letter in the MBA course and they have to submit the fees at BGU within 15 days.
Undergrad courses at BGU:
BBA (H)/ BAJMC/ B.Com (H): 12th pass with 50% equivalent CGPA, BGU may consider 5% relaxation in exceptional cases. Admitted based on the marks of 10th and 12th and university might schedule a PI if wishes to.
B.Sc (H) in data science: 12th pass with science/equivalent along with math as one subject at class 10th
BCA: 12th passed in any of the streams, having math/business math/stats at 12th with 50%.
BBA LLB: 12th pass with 45% if from general, 42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST, also BGU asks for CLAT/XLET/BGU test score for admission.
Postgraduate courses at BGU:
MBA: Graduation in any stream with 50% marks, the students should have an excellent academic career. They should have appeared in any of the exams like CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ or entrance test held by BGU.
MBA in Business Analytics: Should have bachelor’s degree from any board having Statistics/ Math/ CS/ IT as a subject with at least 50% and valid scores in any one of the national tests like CAT/ XAT/ MAT/BGU entrance test.
MAJMC/M.Com: Graduate in any stream with 50%, students get admission based on their score in 10, 12, and bachelor.
MA/M.Sc (Financial Eco): Admission is based on score in graduation with economics/ stats as one subject, with 50%.
MCA: Passed BCA/CSE degree/or any equivalent degree, OR passed B.Sc/B.Com/BA with math at 12th or graduation level, with 50% (45% for reserved)
Doctoral courses at BGU: Minimum duration to do is 3 and max is 6 years. Females and those with 40% or more disability can have 2 more years as a relaxation. Applicants need to have 55% in their master degree / or equivalent B grade in the UGC 7 scale. There is 5% relaxation available for them if they are from reserved castes like SC/ ST/ OBC or belong to differently abled category. Those who are already qualified in UGC NET/ UGC CSIR NET/ JRF/ SLET/ GATE or those who are M.Phil passed are not required to appear for the entrance test of university.

It assists companies in engaging with students and establishing their brands on campus. It schedules interviews to reduce any type of conflicts. Birla Global University with its main campus located in Bhubaneswar, has roughly 30 acres of land. The university has 9 buildings, with the main block, which is surrounded on either side by two academic buildings with yellow stone walls. It is designed in the tradition of the old architecture of our country. The campus has excellent classrooms with multimedia features that enhance learning. It has a fully residential campus with modern infrastructure, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi facility along with sports and recreation facilities.
IT resources: One of the institute's major strengths is Wi-Fi connection, which is available throughout the campus. Students can access a fast internet connection around-the-clock, connecting them to the rest of the world easily.
Library: The knowledge centre of the research and education of BGU is the central library which is a crucial part of the institute. Cafeteria and a tuck shop: Along with the normal mess, which provides breakfast, snacks in evening, lunch and dinner as per the students’ choices, there is also a cafeteria on campus called B cafe, which offers a range of foods to suit their tastes. The campus tuck shop provides students with basic needs, including stationery, toiletries, etc. It also provides students with paid services for spiral binding, photocopies, and prepaid mobile recharge.
Clubs: A number of student clubs committees have been established, and it is via these that the students carry out various activities all year long. On-campus facilities are provided for students to participate in a variety of sporting activities all year long. The sports club is in charge of planning numerous activities and various contests at different levels. The members of cultural clubs work with other student volunteers to plan a variety of events and festivals. They held events in the University for Oman, Christmas, Janmashtami, and Republic Day. Quiz and debate club organises events at inter and intra university level. The university also has anti ragging, discipline, editorial, media, photography, and social media committees.
