Yenepoya University, founded in 2008, NAAC assigned with an "A+" grade, and recognized by the UGC. We must go in time, in order to understand the foundation of this university and how it became deemed to be a university. The Islamic Academy Education was founded in 1991 by businessman Mr. Yenepoya, as a non-profit trust dedicated to the promotion of minorities. The Dental Council of India granted permission in 1992 for the Dental College to teach aspirants. The Institute of Nursing Sciences was established by the trust in 1994, followed by the Medical College in 1999. The Yenepoya Nursing College came into existence in 2002, followed by Physiotherapy College in 2003. On the advice of the UGC, the MHRD recognised Yenepoya University as a “deemed to be university” in 2008 because of its contribution in education. The medical college has an accreditation with MCI, NABH, and NABL. At the same time the Nursing College is recognised by INC.
Graduate, Postgraduate, PhD, and numerous certification programmes are all offered by these universities. The programs offered at UG level are MBBS, BHA, BPH, B.Sc, GNM, BPT, B.Pharma, BBA, BCA, B.Com, BAMS, BHMS, BA, and BNYS. At PG level students can find courses like MD, MS, MPH, MHA, MDS, MPT, MSW, M.Com, M.Sc, and PG diplomas in various fields. The university also has provision of PhD in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Science and Arts. The university also have post doc fellowships in Urology, Surgical Oncology, Cleft Craniofacial Surgery, and Geriatric Medicine.
According to the NIRF rankings 2022 released by the MHRD, the university is ranked 97 among universities in the nation. The university is also ranked 15th in India and 434th in the world according to the 2020–21 UI Green Metric World University Rankings. According to the NIRF rankings for 2022, the Dental College of Yenepoya is ranked 23 among the best dental colleges in the nation. In the ARIIA published by the education ministry, it ranked in Excellent Rank (From 11th to 46th) amongst private/self-financed colleges.
Yenepoya University offers registration in PhD, UG along with PG degrees. The students can apply online and before that, can make sure whether they fit in that particular course or not.
Enrolment to different courses via NEET exam: Candidates who want to be admitted to bachelor/postgraduate degrees in medicine, dentistry, ayurveda, and homeopathy must take the NEET at UG level and NEET at PG level exams and qualify them. Admissions are made in accordance with the counselling norms set by the DGHS, New Delhi.
NEET-exempt enrolment to undergrad and postgraduate courses: Admission to the programmes is determined by performance on the qualifying exams.
Registration in PhD degrees: Application for the PhD position is made using the prescribed forms, which are provided at the Registrar's office/website. Candidates are admitted after passing an entrance exam and an interview assessment. Yenepoya campus is where the entrance test is held, and the date is beforehand announced. Candidates are considered suitable for the PI if they achieve a 50% on their entrance exams. The Ph.D. Admission Committee organises an interview or viva voce to test the knowledge of applicants.

Yenepoya University offers scholarships to deserving candidates from the financially underprivileged group and some other parts of society in order to motivate them to seek education. Kids of the employees and alumni of the Yenepoya Group are also eligible for the award. The distribution of scholarship slots is based on applicants' qualifications, seat availability, and a first-come, first-served policy. The grant is only available for General Quota seats and not for NRI in the case of NEET programs.

Alumni of Yenepoya/ Children of alumni of Yenepoya group: 10% of the study fees will be awarded as a grant, provided that all other MCC-stated requirements are met. There will be a total of 2 reserved seats in this group, and admission will be purely based on merits.
Children of Yenepoya Group Employees: To qualify, the employees needed to have spent ten years working for the institution. Employees are only permitted to apply for scholarships for 2 kids and max seats reserved are 3.

Free seat: This category will be given serious consideration for 5 deserving students from economically disadvantaged families. For candidates from the Kasargod district, 2 of the 5 seats are set aside.
Conditions: To qualify for this, a candidate must have obtained at least 80% on the Pre-University/XII exams in PCB subjects. The free seat will be provided depending on rankings; the top 5 applicants in this category who are ranked first will receive the scholarship. Only the program fee for the specific study program will be paid by the scholarship; other costs such as housing, laptops, uniforms, etc., will not be included.
Alumni of Yenepoya Group: 20% of the study fees will be awarded as a grant, provided that all other MCC-stated requirements are met.
Academic Merit Scholarship: Candidates who receive 90% or higher in PCB will receive a 25% grant on their course expenses, provided that they also meet all other requirements.

The scholarship will be awarded in the same manner in the following years as it was in the first. However, the scholarship's renewal in succeeding years will depend on: academic achievement, attendance, engagement in recreational activities like sports.

Yenepoya University has the Employment & Placement Cell, formed in 2011, with the goal of bridging the gap and assisting students in career planning. The cell works round the clock to schedule campus interviews for students and track job prospects. It consistently communicates with eminent organizations that pick UG and PG students across all fields through campus interviews. The goals of the cell are.
The college has been in collaboration with Apollo Hospital Bangalore, Rotary Club Mangalore, MedGenome Labs, Ambuja Healthcare, and DNA Life Organisation. The hospitals that conducted placement drives at the campus are New Delhi’s Medanta Hospital, BLK Hospital, Max Healthcare Institute, and Fortis Escorts Hospital. The others are Rainbow Hospital in Bangalore, Manipal Hospital, and Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad.
Yenepoya University gives environmental education through awareness related programs. The university is engaged in self-sustainable eco-friendly initiatives and encourages the youth to be conscious of their surroundings. The university's commitment to having a plastic-free, clean and green campus shows its eco-friendly stance. The campus is being developed using green principles, with a special focus on conserving water and through solid waste management.
Hostels: In the scenic surroundings, the university has 13 separate hostels for men and women, providing top-notch amenities to its students. Female students can stay in the Zuleka and other hostels located in the B & C blocks, while male students can stay in the Fatima, BRU, Hassan and other hostels located in the A block. Each dormitory room is furnished and supplied with the essential items, the UG hostels have air conditioning facilities available upon request, and PG hostels are air-conditioned. The hostels have a fitness gym, a laundry facility, a Flat - screen TV, Wi-Fi, drinkable water, and connected dining areas. The food kiosk and coffee store is also there inside the hostel to use it.
The hostel's protection is constantly being checked by security staff, and wardens are always on site. All of the hostels have CCTV cameras for surveillance and the department of health performs pest control procedures within and outside the hostel. The proper cleaning of the dormitories is done by maintenance staff.
Library: The college library began in 1992, but by 2008 it had evolved and changed into a central library of the university. The central library also has constituent units and departments libraries. The main hub of knowledge is the central library, which is situated in a separate air-conditioned structure. It can connect and share things to meet the demands of instructors, scholars, and students in terms of education. Novels, periodicals, e-resources, and ancient scripts are among the library's assets. It offers off-campus access 24 hours a day to a variety of e-books, e-journals, and online databases bases.
Sports: The University has built a top-notch infrastructure to meet the needs for athletic and leisure activities. The facilities include an indoor facility with areas for TT, BB, Volley, Squash, and other sports. The indoor stadium is built such that it could be used as an indoor auditorium with seating for about 5K people. This building is frequently utilized to host large-scale gathering programs, convocations, and cultural activities. The grass soccer field, Throw ball, Cricket practice nets, Kabbaddi, and athletics facilities are among the outdoor sports facilities.
Differently abled access: It features a free environment that is accessible to people with disabilities, allowing both staff and students to use the services in an independent manner. The university has put slopes, ramps, and elevators into every classroom for simple access. The lift contains Braille signs that can assist the disabled in finding the locations they need to go to on a daily basis. In order to better accommodate disabled people, the university offers disabled-friendly toilets in each of its campus locations.
Students Council: The council members are active in promoting recreational activities like athletics, literature events, cultural festivals, and NSS.
