Ashoka University, Sonipat Campus Life
Ashoka University has a large campus area of 25 acres in the city of Sonepat, Haryana. The design of the campus infrastructure is the artwork of architect Aaron Schwarz from Perkins-Eastman, an American design firm. The University has a dining area where students get their meals daily three times a day. Provision of the multi-cuisine menu with evening snacks is available. Meal system follows a pay per meal procedure in which students have to pay for the meal they take. Also, there is a tuck shop and cooperative stores open so that students can purchase fresh food and other general products.
Gym facility is also available in the University that gives motivation to students to work on maintaining a healthy life. Inside the campus is a large IT Infrastructure facility with all modern IT equipment. An auditorium is inside the school where seminars, debates, functions are organized, and guests are invited to be the part of programs.
Keeping in mind the importance of extra-curricular activities, the university hosts sports activities for its students. Games like football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, tennis, and ultimate Frisbee are part of sports activities. Also, there are a football field, cricket pitch, volleyball court, synthetic ball court, a 200 m running track, and a long jump pit 1+ km running track, and many more indoor and outdoor games accessories.
The campus has a 24/7 working Wi-Fi facility, and students can anytime access online stuff. IT department at the University helps students to overcome any kind of difficulties.
The university fosters its transport facilities through transport services. University has a shuttle that moves on an hourly or half-hourly basis. It takes students to and from the Jahangirpuri metro station, which lies towards north on Delhi Metro Yellow Line.
Security services are also available for the students. CCTV cameras are present at every exit points, and security personnel looks after them. Also, there are fire alarms and smoke detectors placed in all the rooms of the building.
