Utkal University of culture was established in the year 1999. Since Odisha has rich cultural beliefs, and a lot of attention is provided to various forms of arts, that is why UUC was established keeping in mind the need for promotion of that cultural heritage. Utkal University of Culture has been approved by UGC as well as Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Vision: To provide education in the field of culture and art, through the latest academic and research facilities, so that students get to know about the benefits of education in this field, and become capable of bringing changes, through their academic knowledge and research.
Mission: To promote various departments of culture, through dissemination of quality teaching, practices and research, in various arts including language, literature, architecture, etc. which in turn, prove to be fruitful for growth of individuals and for the nation as a whole.
UUC provides education in numerous departments related to cultural studies, architecture, archeology, language, literature, visual arts and performing arts. Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses provided by the university apart from these, Ph.D and Certificate Courses are also provided in various streams.
The candidates are admitted in Utkal University of Culture, on the basis of marks obtained by them in qualifying examinations, which include the marks obtained in 10+2, in bachelor’s degree, or in any other equivalent examination. Merit list is prepared on the basis of guidelines and rules as prescribed by the university.
