Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology was established in 1960 as UP Agricultural University. It was later given the name of GBPUAT and is also known as GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. It is the first agricultural university of the nation. The University is the result of a successful partnership between the United States and India. GBPUAT is the State University approved by AICTE and UGC and recognised by ICAR.
