Jalpaiguri Law College

Founded in 1981, Jalpaiguri Law College is a government-aided institution offering legal education to students. The college is affiliated to the University of North Bengal and approved by the Bar Council of India and the Government of West Bengal. It is the only law college in the district as well as in the neighbouring district of Coochbehar. The college offers a five-year integrated B.A.LL.B program and a two-year LL.M program.

Application Process

Applications for admission to the B.A.LL.B program can be downloaded from the college website. Eligible students must complete the application form and submit it along with the supporting documents within the application period. Provisionally admitted students are required to deposit a certain amount of fee online which includes the university registration fee. A scanned copy of the online deposit receipt should be mailed to the college at [email protected] on the day of deposit itself.

Documents Required for Admission to the Five-Year Integrated B.A.LL.B course are

• Class 10th marksheet or admit card of Madhyamik/ICSE/CBSE
• Marksheet of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS or other certificates with the name of the candidate
• EWS certificate which is valid for the current financial year in the name of the candidate issued by a competent authority
• Two recent passport-size photographs
• Candidates from any Board other than the West Bengal Board should submit original Migration Certificate
• Transfer candidates must produce the original registration certificate from the last attended institution and a release certificate
