This institute works on a sponsorship basis i.e., the institution has tie-ups with multiple prime shipping companies and the college sends them the list of qualifying students for the purpose of placement. This process is as follows:

• The institute organises a pre-screening test followed by an interview.
• Qualifying student profiles are forwarded to various sea companies.
• The companies then shortlists the candidate per the requirements.
• The candidates then need to qualify for the selected company’s interview part along with other tests.
• Selected candidates are then updated about it along with a sponsorship letter.

Situated at Surajpur Kansa Road, Greater Noida, IMI owns world-class infrastructure and student amenities. The facilities here are as per the requirements of marine students. This institute mainly consists of various labs used for practical learning and training. Some key amenities here are:

• Library: IMI has maintained a well-resourced, fully-furnished, and updated library with all the sources of information, practical books, technical books, project works, and models.
• Hostel: As the students need to stay in the college premises during the whole graduation period, the college has lodging (hostel) facilities for students with fully-furnished, maintained, and hygienic rooms guided by experienced wardens.
• Engine Simulator and Ship Handling: As practical knowledge is very important in the field of marine, students are given a handful of training in ship handling and engine simulator.
• Workshop & Laboratory: The lab and workshops are being used to train the students with engines and machinery. The labs of IMI are installed with milling machines, shaping machines, gas cutting, welding equipment, etc. Some labs present here are Fluid Machinery Lab, Computer Lab, Physics Lab, Full Mission Engine Lab, Chemistry Lab, etc.
• Sports: The institute has proper sports arrangements for the all-around growth of the students. Some internal and external sports activities present here are Table tennis, Football, Swimming, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Basketball, etc.
