This full time 4-year course deals with all the aspect of maritime engineering. The institute provides individual with broad opportunities in the newly generated industry that has a requirement of lot of workforce. After the completion of the course, the student becomes a certified engineer who can live up to 12 month sea time in a merchant ship.
For applying in the course, the candidate should have minimum 60% marks in PCM in 12thstandard. The candidate should have a minimum of 50% in English at 10+2 or 10th standard and fluency in English is necessary. They have to clear IMU-CET an India level selection exam. At the time of counseling, the student can choose their institute preference.
The course will commence from Aug/Sep of every year. There is an application fee of Rs. 2,000 charged which can be paid either in cash or in demand draft favoring ‘International Maritime Institute’ payable at Greater Noida. The candidate should not exceed 25 year as on the date of commencement of training. Medically the person should have eyesight of 6/6 without external aid and color blindness. This course will prepare the candidate for a lucrative and enjoyable career.
The short-term course is specially made for the candidates who have just passed their higher secondary examinations and are prepared to become a qualified deck officer in the shipping industry. This course will help to educate the student about interesting and amazing world of navigation, seamanship, ship construction, ship stability and MARPOL and marine engineering process. Training is provided in English with the primary objective of giving a human touch to the teaching atmosphere so that there is less pressure on the individual. The ever-growing nature of the industry makes it a perfect job provider in many interesting and amazing sector.
The student should have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in his/her 10+2 with at least 60% marks or should have at least 60% marks in his/her B.Sc. Final year. The candidate should be fluent in written and oral English and should have a minimum percentage of 50% in English in 10+2 examinations. They should not exceed 25 year at the date of commencement of the training and pass the OPEN-NET examinations conducted by IMU. The candidate should be physically fit with eyesight of 6/6 with no external aids and no color blindness.
This 1-year program is designed especially for mechanical engineers who want to change their career to marine engineering. The directorate of shipping has approved the course. After successful completion of the course, the candidate becomes eligible to work as a junior trainee/engineer. Successfully they will become certified engineer officer of merchant marine that will help them to pursue the lucrative business career of the shipping industry worldwide.
The candidate should have BE or B.Tech from Mechanical or naval arch stream. The course should be affiliated from AICTE with minimum percentage of 50% marks overall. In English, the candidate should have at least 60% in either 10th or 10+2. The candidate should not exceed the age of 28 years on the date of commencement of training. The candidate must be medically fit with eyesight of 6/6 without external aids and color blindness. IMI undertakes aptitude, psychometric, and reasoning test followed by an interview.
The course is been integrated for the students who have done there diploma in their respective fields and want to start there course from the second year as they have completed their studies of the 1st year in B.Tech in their respective diploma. This course will help to get their rightful manner of studying in an institution.
Candidates should have diploma in Mechanical Engineering or marine engineering with at least 60% marks in the given diploma. The candidate must have 50% marks in English at 10 or 10+2 level or in diploma.
Other courses are post sea courses done as the Individual starts his sea journey. They are specially integrated for the safety and management level courses that prepare the candidates to survive their majestic journey by staying safe and prepared for any kind of disaster. There are many such courses for e.g. Basic safety training, unit or arc, gas welding, high voltage safety and switch gear-management level course. These are value added course that help candidates to cope with the future problem and most importantly make them understand to do their job that is safe and doesn’t need take risk.
