MIT Academy of Engineering was established in Pune, Maharashtra in the year 1983 in the form of a Private Educational Institute for teaching higher education among students to develop a career as an engineer. The college has affiliations with NAAC, NBA, and AICTE. The engineering college provides graduation and postgraduate course under different specialization. The factor that makes the college popular is its learning and teaching procedure that is participative and interactive. The college tries to implant the qualities of being excellent speakers and patient listeners. The Outlook Survey ranked the Engineering College at No.1 position in Pune among the private engineering college and No.2 in Maharashtra. It ranked at 37th position in India as the best engineering college by Outlook Survey in 2015. Times magazine ranked the college as the 56th best engineering college among the popular 100 colleges across the world. It ranked at 2nd in Maharashtra by the Outlook India Express Survey among all the private colleges.
The College has a Central Library that provides students with the opportunity to collect diverse information from different resources available there. There are books, magazines, journals, and other reading materials available that meet the requirement of students. Even there are reading resources that help in enhancing the quality of lifestyle of all its users. The central library works on encouraging its readers by organizing several events throughout the year like library orientation, poster presentation, paper presentation, debate, guest lecture for students, faculty and staff, article and book review, etc.
The college also has a National Digital Library that has a collection of all the resources available in the common library in a digitized form. The Digital library is sponsored by MHRD and is coordinated by the popular IIT Kharagpur.
